I believe he is truly a victim of the network whip. They say one thing, he puts out a video or newsletter trying to share as much info as he can, and then they change their mind last second.

And as for him posting on multiple occasions “we will post the AE results today” then doesn’t do it for 3-4 days?

Time to worry or should we be ok?
As others have said, I don't think you need to worry. We are too far behind on hiring.

I don’t have an answer for that. All I’m saying is that when PB or WC spoke, there was definitely some managerial tone in some of their answers...BS appeared more from the heart/straight shooter than politician.

Mgmt will go to great lengths to make as much money as possible. Remember summer? They will do the same to save money and not burn cash. The bean counters don’t care about emotion, just the bottom line. Time will tell

The bean counters also know what our training throughput is and what we need next year too. We already got in a hole and this won't affect more than this summer at the most.

Maybe, but given the fact that the training/hiring debacle and AE incompetence of the last 2 years has been self inflicted by Network/CR/Bean counters then you are more optimistic than me that they don’t gumm this up too.

curious if guys ***** themselves out for greenies this summer if it’ll even be worth it for profit sharing...good money up front but the GS profit sharing benefit is nice too

This here makes the argument of why hiring may slow. Mgmt knows this group salivates for the greenies. Sr dudes getting close to the end are going to max out especially if no contract is on the horizon. Pilots will complain if the Greenslip well dries up because for many it is a massive pay cut. Mgmt knows they can run it lean again and now have a reason.

I am sure DAL will try to get ahead of this but in reality it will be hard not to screw it up worse. News/outlook on this virus can change in a moment and while network can respond within a month if not quicker it takes crew resources many months to implement any significant change. The vicissitudes of this industry make it almost impossible to stay ahead of in periods of rapid change and instability. I wouldn't be too surprised if the bid packages for April are delayed.

On the positive side oil should be a bargain throughout this period. I personally would glad to help out and take a 55 hour SIL.

I don't mind a delayed bid package... if they're busy setting up a vacation rebid to allocate a tripling of summer vacation weeks available.
