Delta Hiring News
#3241
I stayed at the Hilton last month. I asked for the Delta rate, which was still $138/night…so it's not cheap. The food was good in the main floor dining area, and crap in the sports bar. But it was nice knowing I didn't have to depend on a shuttle or taxi…just walk across the street. We ended early on the 2nd day, so even though you get a late flight scheduled on the return, you can easily go standby and get an earlier departure.

A FO here at Atlanta's Sweatiest Airline (and this time around we dont seem to be getting many invites) has an interview scheduled in the next month or two. He is a nice guy, decent pilot, and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about him. But to say that he is among the MOST qualified is absurd. Under 30, very little flying experience pre-121 and 6 or 7 years as an RJ FO. His qualifications would seem to put him in the lower tranches, but his connections got him an interview. FWIW

From my experience, it was a good sign. I got a "fix that" email and then, after making the correction, got an interview invitation a week or two later. At a minimum, it means someone's looking at the applicant. That said, a couple folks on this thread have said they got a "fix it" email months ago and haven't heard anything since.

Correct. The "fix it" just means it was looked at. Does not mean that you will get a call right away.

Close. The magic number is one, but that does not guarantee an interview - just that your application will be reviewed. DAL Ranks all of its applicants according to standardized criteria. Having at least one internal recommendation will ensure your application is pulled out of the thousands of applications and ranked sooner. The actual recommendation does not help where you score on the ranking list, but puts you to the head of the list for ranking.
The timing of your interview will be determined by how high your application is ranked. Applications without recommendations will also be ranked for competitiveness but no telling when the company will get to it.
Good Luck

Hey Scoop - Sounds like you have a handle on this. I send in a Rec for a long time friend. He's got multiple Heavy types, was a Regional Check Capt for a long while, College Grad, no problems. Currently 747-400 F/O. The only downside I see is that he's 44. I got the email that he had been 'reviewed,' whatever that means. Any ideas?
