One can do all the research they want, but it really seems any decision made with regards to a job in the airline industry should come with a "we'll see" at the end of it. Dumb luck appears to be a way too prevalent aspect in all this.

Mesabah,
I really hope young pilots do their own due diligence on the subject. You like to come on here and talk in absolutes. If this happens then you automatically move up to Delta. Sorry my friend but history is not on your side. At one point in time it was in our mainline contract that 25% of all new hires would come from our wholly owned airlines Comair and ASA. ASA was sold to Skywest and Comair went the way of the dinosaur and they didn't automatically move up to Delta when it happened.

Watching that model collapse on its own is good for everyone in the long run. Most of that flying needs to be brought to the mainline anyway. Or at the very least, massive raises at the outsource providers with severe penalties for low balling RFP's.

The latest from SD,
There will be four classes of 50 new hires in June and July. This will bring the total number of new hires who have gone through training so far this year to 472. An additional 13 new hire classes are scheduled to take place beginning in August and running through the end of the year.

Photos are actually taken the same day you get your CJO (interview day 1), so that your badge is ready on Day 1 of indoc. CASS takes a few more days, but there's no need to jumpseat because you've got positive space ticketing all the way through training.

That's if all the regionals collapse together, but from what I'm seeing, only DCI is collapsing.
