I came from B6. I know of at least 3 others from B6 recently as well.

Does anyone know if it matters on the timing of when you have an internal rec submitted in relation to when your app is published? For example-if I have an internal rec uploaded to my app prior to clicking publish, will it still trigger the app to be scored after it is actually published assuming no further internal recs are submitted after?

Make sure your app is 100% good to go. Publish. Then have rec sent. Otherwise your app may not even be visible.

I'm wondering how much notice one gets for the interview. For example, if you got called today about setting up an interview, how much time would you have to get ready for it? And are they interviewing five days out of the week, or just interviewing large groups of people on one day of the week?

They are very flexible in working around your schedule. The earliest they can get you in is typically 3-5 weeks. I know one person had to call them back to delay their interview by another month and they were fine with that.

And as far as getting "ready." You should not be waiting until they call, you should start preparing now. This is not something your cram for. You want the days or weeks leading up to the interview to be stress free.

Thanks, I'll pass that on to the person who was asking me.

So, upgrade at 26-30 and hit left seat of a WB at what, 35-40? Surely they will retire by 50, no?

There are two different "recs" being confused here. You can have Airline Apps send a rec request to anyone, including DAL pilots. They will write something and submit, then that appears with your app on Airline Apps. When people say "I have four internal recs and two external recs", they are talking about these Airline Apps recs. It is helpful for your UAL/DAL apps to have several internal recs via this method. This is just part of your application and does not trigger any kind of special attention.

Separately, there is an internal DAL process that allows a DAL pilot to submit an e-mail to the hiring department that guarantees your app will be scored. This is the scoring that can only take place once every twelve months.

Bottom line: get as many recs as you can submitted to Airline Apps ASAP; it doesn't matter if your app is published or not (although it would be better to do prior to publishing if possible). Once your entire app is solid and published, to include these recs, then have a DAL pilot submit the e-mail to have your app scored.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm incorrect on any of this.
