More curious too is the fact that they are growing us so much in NYC. I know thats where DL normally sends their regionals to die but I wouldnt think they would execute that plan while trying to win the market.

So there will be no need for that part of the flying? And DAL will abandon those markets that don't support 737s and up? Who will do it? I gues AAL could do it since they all ow a thousand small RJs. Or is it too bad so sad for some of those smaller communities?

That's because dALPA forced such a crappy scope clause on us isn't it?

When UAL and AAL get their regional fleets re-aligned (park 50-seat jets) you will see the same thing happen there. The biggest implosion waiting to happen in the regional world is Express Jet. When UAL decides they want to cull the 50-seat fleet Express Jet will be decimated.

By then we would all be better off if Delta realized that a EtD program is still not going to staff DCI and they bring the 76-fleet to mainline. They can then have an EtD program and let all the regional lifers fly the 50-seat jets that are left. When all the growth they are trying to staff is for the 76-seat fleet they should just have that at mainline. Be easy to run a 50-seat DCI operation with lifers who don't want to go anywhere.

No, has nothing to do with scope. The regional airlines that fly for multiple carriers will only have enough pilots to staff for one mainline partner. When the rate reset happens, the investors will force these regionals to walk away from DCI.

Weren't you saying that the EtD program is idiotic?

I think both the EtD and the SSP are end runs around our CBA's to get people to work here for free. They won't work.

So then you are basically saying that the small gauge airframe flying will just disappear.

Although you were trying to be sarcastic, you hit on the truth...

D-ALPA believes outsourcing is good for us. We have tried to maximize the returns from constructively facilitating the DCI shell game.

Yes, the EtD program is poorly considered.

Delta is one RJ accident from being very difficult to insure entity.
