The small Lift providers are not in a position of power. More flying will come back to the mainlines and more regionals will combine for a smaller piece of the pie.

I don't think you know how management works, they hire a bunch of "yes men" underneath them, who bury problems until they grow into a full blown crisis. Look at GM for an example of this. Richard Anderson has no idea what's happening at DCI.

RA knows exactly what is going on to the last penny. If you don't think he does mr CEO, offer your consulting services. I'm sure he'd be greatful for your insight.

I thought I was being polite and restrained. Can I re-phrase to say "the political CG of our association is somewhere around a 767 Captain and anything we do has to benefit, or at least not harm, that demographic to have any hope of success."

Sorry if I misunderstood then. But guess what... deadzoners have a right to be a little selfish. Mesabah and any who follow him are gonna have a great career. Sorry if I do not want to flush any gains that my demographic might be able to make so that he can retire with 7+ figures.

Mr. Anderson has told some who have spoken with him that Senior Executives can become insulated from operational issues.
Mr. Anderson himself has been involved in the Endeavor operation.
It is my opinion experiments are being executed and once results are in the orders may be adjusted, changed, or tactically abandoned. If you look back at Mr. Anderson's history, he has been on the front lines of some tremendous innovations in our profession. Some, like Eastern Air Lines, were failures. He at least was in on the planning for breaking the Northwest Mechanic's union. He's shrunk Delta to profitability by making some very astute decisions. He is both a smart tactician and strategist (two different skills, one requires vision and the other execution).
Endeavor is a petri dish in the laboratory of pilot labor.

The thing is, we can all find good reasons to justify self interest. If we can fix our profession, then we do it because it is the right thing to do.
Pay wise the express flying is below me, even in the left seat. But if I can save another guy from wasting a decade of his life, them my effort (and it's been a lot of work for 15 years now) has been worth it.

Flight Operations (and Endeavor's EtD is a Flight Operations issue) is given orders to execute. They execute those orders.
Mr. Anderson has told some who have spoken with him that Senior Executives can become insulated from operational issues.
Mr. Anderson himself has been involved in the Endeavor operation.

I prefer management to be nimble and have the ability to change plans to suit the situation. It is stupidity to build a plan with no ability to change it to meet current market and operational conditions. To wit: jetblue and their focus on cutting fat to the bone. What happens when you do that... at all costs... when things go wrong? You have Valentine's Day massacres. What is gonna happen at SWA if their scope clause is not modified? Rigidity is not the answer.... at all.
And I do not at all agree with your premise of shrinking to profitability. That is just plain wrong.
