Delta Hiring News

My overall feel was that once you get the interview, it doesnt matter what your background is. However, the age old puzzle of how you get picked for an interview continues to elude me. It seems like most of the folks I spoke with this week either had internal recs or family ties to Delta. I have seen folks post that the rec letters don't help till the interview, but they didnt even look or talk about mine in the interview.
FWIW, I had 6 rec letters from Delta pilots, but none were Captains, line check guys, or anything. All FOs that I had flown with in the past 5-6 years. I think that helped me get looked at much earlier than I would have.

Yea, you have to have three references but only one internal LOR. They say a internal LOR will get your app looked at and scored but not an interview. The VP also told me to be careful with who writes your LOR because that is also weighted as well. The VP said to me if you have a LOR from a guy that also referred five other guys and they failed the interview, then they are not as likely to call you for an interview now. So I would not recommend just any LOR either but you do need at least one. Another option is to attend a job fair since that will get your app reviewed and scored too.
