There are many "flags". Speeding tickets are a flag, and most people have them. Long periods of unemployment not associated with other acceptable things like education or medical events are another.

Not working holidays is a flag. Did you sick out for them all the time? Or were you just senior enough to hold them off? Big difference.

There's a million reasons for an app to be flagged. Probably most pilots hired had some flags. Its just something they want to look into thats all.

Well said! Couldn't have said it better myself. They hire guys every day with flags in their app!! The idea is to minimize those flags.

The problem right now is if you are not mil or from CPS or the SSP there are not that many slots for anyone else so it will take some time to get down through the stack they have.
Still a decent wait for mil guys....I'm still hearing crickets.

I was told that roughly 40% of the 8,000 applications are military guys.

From most of the classes already hired, OTS new hires is roughly only 20% hired non-military. This is just from the few classes as of recently. No hard facts to rely on.

Just something I was curious about....... So there are 8,000 apps and everyone is applying to the same places. Abviously if someone gets hired by AA, UAL, etc and it's the particular airline they want to be at they will no longer update their application. When do those apps drop off to where the other companies realize that a particular applicant is no long available? Is it a month or does it take longer?

You could always go update the "other" apps to show not available.

Airline apps has that capability? I've looked on there before to find away to show not available. I guess we could always go through and delete all our flying information and history.

After I got hired by Delta, I emailed Airline Apps to cancel my subscription. The only other airline I had checked was United, although I wasn't really looking to work for them…it was free to check the box, so I did. The lady at airline apps emailed me back and said it would just run out at the end of a year, so just let it be and it would take care of itself. So to answer the question, I'm sure there are people in the pool who are already happy where they are, but haven't bothered to do anything with their application at other places. At least there's one, anyway…

Last I heard black or Navy is good but navy by far looks the sharpest and is the suit color of choice for any professional interview. Most guys actually wear navy to the interview.

.... and when you get dressed for a trip at 04:30 while trying not to wake the family, you might even screw up and wear Navy on a trip (with you black tie and jacket). ... just sayin ... now the Navy pants stay in a completely different closet.
