I stressed a lot about suit color, but in the end I wore a charcoal suit I'd purchased 10 years prior (only worn once or twice) rather than springing for the latest and greatest navy suit. I say this with no authority whatsoever, but in retrospect I think I stressed needlessly in regard to my suit's color. You're not trying out for America's Next Top Model, and Delta (hopefully) will choose what I wear for the next 22 years. I personally believe that as long as you are well groomed and present a professional image with your attire, the clothing will not factor into your hiring decision.

Haha! Now that is clasic. Definitely adds to the conversation list for a 4 day trip.

Yeah I never knew there was a gouge on what to wear. I went to a nice suit shop and told them to make me look good. I ended up wearing a navy blue suit with stripes in it and a burgundy/gray tie. On the psych day I actually wore a gray shirt with the suit instead of a white one. I still got hired so I guess as long as you look like you didn't pick your suit up from Goodwill you should be good.

I guess times have changed since the late 70s when I showed up wearing tan slacks and dark blue sport coat and tie. ATL Chief Pilot Captain Plato Ryan (wearing exactly the same style tan slacks and dark blazer) jokingly asked if had not gotten the memo....told him I heard about the dark suit but I had just gotten out of AF and couldn't afford to buy a brand new suit.....and if that is what it took to get hired I guess Delta wasn't for me. When the interview concluded he shook my hand and welcomed me to Delta and said "nice dress choice". Over my career when I would see/meet him I would joking remind him and he always remembered me. So I sure hope Delta is getting to regimented in the 10 years since I retired.

So here's a few questions I know has been ask in the past, but am curious what the status is currently.

Concerning cpz: Have all flows for this year been granted for 2014? Concerning 2015 how many cpz flows will be permitted before they hit the number of applicants that were already on property to be given flow?

Concerning Endeavor: How long till they have exhausted all the SSP individuals that can actually interview - meaning eligible captains that meet the requirements?

Thanks, questions concerning these two airlines may be hard to answer exactly, but there are some defined numbers.

Funny you mention that. I did almost the same thing but it was a brown belt that I put on with my uniform by mistake. I didn't notice till I got to the security line at the airport. I triple check these days.

badflaps, you are right, it was Rhyne....and I thought I was misspelling it as I posted but it has been years. His son flew SO for me on the 727 in the 90s. Anyway, just trying to let our replacements know not to get wrapped around their suit and tie color as a big issue in their hiring....just hope it hasn't come to that.

You are right there, soon enough trapped in Navy surplus, for a length of time that will dull your fashion sensibilities forever... White socks with everything comes to mind.
