Ditto. I only included schools for which I could show a numerical score. You might consider moving some of the non-graded schools to the achievements section, FWIW.

I thought those if you patiently waiting your turn like myself might appreciate that story!
Sorry, Irish, but I know the feeling. When I finally did get the invite, I thought for sure it must be some kind of spam!

Hello, I need advice. I was invited to interview in 2008, but that interview was cancelled due to the economy. I have been updating my application regularly since. I emailed and was told by Mr. Kraby that the applicant pool has changed and that I should keep updating my application. What do I need to do in order to get my application reviewed? Nothing has changed since 2008 but my hours. Thank You.

Same thing happened to me but in 2001. Haven't heard a word.

That's disheartening. I guess lighting doesn't strike twice.

I was hired by NW in 08', and about 3 weeks before class notified that it was "postponed" till early fall (thankfully I had not resigned yet)....the merger was announced and I received an email from DL saying my position in the pool was only good for a year, and that I would need to reapply after that. It also said I would be given "preferential" consideration....... years passed with nothing so...Unfortunately, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. Luckily, I ended up getting hired by my first choice airline anyways. Good luck

That may be part of the problem. You haven't pursued a higher position in your company(check airmen, management)? Or an MBA? Or volunteering? Or being on your MEC?

They seem to want people that are constantly growing and evolving as people and professionals. That, along with a high GPA from a good college that you completed in 4 or less years seems to help.

A buddy of mine that was hired said he put everything from water survival to GRACC under his education. So I guess it doesn't really matter what you put, it's up to what the computer wants to grade and spit out.

Two things that have changed since 2001/2008 is the number/qualification of the new applicants, and that the hiring wave has just begun. Since there has been very little hiring in the recent past, many pilots have joined the 'level 1' candidate pool. I don't know what the current criteria are that make the various levels (Mil, GPA, school, degree, extra curricular, etc), but it sounds like they are only working through the top qualifiers right now.
Don't get discouraged. Keep your app updated, keep your record clean, your flying current, maybe do some professional development to increase your score, and eventually you'll get the call. There are only so many space shuttle astronaut, Top Gun commander, flying cross winning test pilots left out there.

Too funny - in SNA starting a 3 day and ran into a DAL new hire. He is Ex- Navy and did 5 months at UAL & came over here. That says volumes.

Welcome - Baja
