You need at least one internal letter of rec to get your app reviewed but after that it doesn't matter. Delta will tell you that networking will not get you an interview but your app will.

Okay good to know. So endeavor currently has 1800 plus pilots but you have to be a captain for the SSP, Correct? So that brings them down to around 900 qualified applicants for the SSP. They have hired about 120 of those guys this year and interviewed around 300, guessing? So how many of the 1800 pilots still have the SSP agreement? It would seem that endeavor can't even hire 300 pilots a year as well. I don't know these numbers, maybe someone else does.

Dal is still at 85/mo, and with United hiring 100/mo, and AA hiring 50+/mo, some of the potential flows/ssps are gonna go elsewhere and not necessarily rely on flow. Ive actually met quite a few who chose not to flow and went to other majors. Youre going to see hiring REALLY open up once AA goes to the same 85-100 number as DAL and UAL, but that may not happen realistically until after May 2016 (recalls last chance to go back). So basically, hiring still isn't in full swing, but its very very close and the calls are coming soon. This is a very exciting time. The call is coming. Stay patient and keep networking and improving your resume any way you can.

Not sure where this "UAL is hiring 100/month" keeps coming up from.
Not true. Wasn't true when people stated that over a year ago and not true today.

Yes, hiring is continuing. But I can tell you that we are not losing 100 pilots a month due to retirements, nor have we been adding 100 pilots to the bottom of the seniority list each month.
50 is actually closer to the real number~

100% agreed! Was told the same thing at OBAP. Unless you and I are in the scoring realm that they are picking from, we won't get an invite till we find something else that raises our score, or they have gone through the higher scoring group.

It definitely doesn't hurt to network, your name constantly popping up is what helps to get you the invite before others with a very similar score. I have been told that's where networking counts. Until we meet the scoring criteria they are selecting from. We are just spectators.

Just to back up what you mentioned, at OBAP in August one of the actual recruiters mentioned UAL is planning to hire 1200 pilots in a 20 month period. Doing the math on that it comes to 60 a month. I'm sure those numbers could fluctuate up or down depending on factors, but definitely not the 100 a month across the board that we all would hope.

Just thought I'd share.

It will get interesting to see where it all goes. If they take more ssp people the endeavor operation will be more strained than it is.
Bro,
I've been following your posts here for a while. You seem hellz-bent on Delta which is good 'cause you know what you want. Is it Delta or nothing or have you applied to other majors? How about applying to JB or Spirit. Maybe that would put you over the edge and get more notice if not interview experience. Just curious.

Peace

EMBskillz,

Thanks for the response. You are correct, Delta #1 choice for me. I have numerous contacts with them and I grew up where they began. So from a young age it's always been about Delta for me - in my blood.

I have applied to: UAL, AA/US, JetBlue, UPS, Spirit, and plan FedEx when they are open. Haven't heard anything from any of them and I do have several contacts with many of them that I interact with regularly. I update apps at least twice a month. I feel DL is my best shot though and it's where I highly desire to work.

Regards!

Default Delta Hiring News

Sooo, I opened my email this morning and there it was. An email from airlineapps! Finally, my long awaited Delta interview had invite had arrived? Nope, just a reminder that my airlineapps membership had expired and I needed to pay more money to keep my app on file. Wah wah wah...
I thought those if you patiently waiting your turn like myself might appreciate that story!

Haha! Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Geez man that is like the worst! I've gotten them before as well for that and also for "such and such regional is offering a bonus apply now!"

That stinks! Hopefully it's the last time you have to pay. I'm due the first of next year.
