Delta Hiring News

Off the street civ will be difficult for a while... DAL likes balance in their ranks, and with the required monthly numbers coming via:
20 Compass flows(9-10 months each year for the next two years)
9 Mesaba flows(almost done if not already)
12 Endeavor SSP's (indefinitely, supposed to rise in the future, that airline might not exist in 2 years)
That's 32-41 of each month's 100 or so slots.
Mil guys in off the street interviews have the advantage for a while, once the civ programs abate it will be much more evenly balanced in the interview process. Good luck to all.

Flycameron I'm with you on this trying to figure out what gives to get Invite. I have all the requirements that "competitive" individuals are supposed to have. I have volunteer work in corporate, community, and even at Delta, but it's got me no where. I have several other aspects that "look great", but heard nothing. Also, have networked extensively with individuals in HR, Flt ops, and hiring, but not even a peep. App has been on file for 7+ years and updated very often.
I don't mean to seem like I'm ranting, but it is very frustrating when you are passionate about something and nothing seems to come of the pursuit. I have apps in with many other carriers, but delta is my main objective and always has been. I have heard the "gotta network, gotta network" for a while now and have been like crazy, but it hasn't done anything for me for the past three years. I was building contacts even when they weren't hiring.

Unfortunately he is correct. DL just hired a FO from us with no 121PIC time at all. From his qualifications the only factor that seems to be different is demographic factor.

I understand being frustrated, but you've got to let it go. The people conducting interviews are very good at their jobs, and if they detect a hint of frustrated or irritation that others who appear less qualified are already on the property, you won't make it. We are the very beginning of the hiring wave, and I truly hope that you are able to get here and enjoy a nice career. Just try to let stuff go that's out of your control and concentrate on the positive. Good luck.

Met him personally and heard him state what all he had for qualifications because I'm try into figure out what I'm missing. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and I am happy for him, but when you have been trying for so long and have been trying every way you can to get noticed and for longer and nothing.... It is disheartening.
