Now I have decided to start regular updates again and more aggressively pursue the opportunity to get on with a major airline, preferably with Delta. My question is, if I'm doing regular updates again, am I in good shape for getting a call? In other words, how does the computer or person, whatever it is, evaluate that aspect of an applicant? Does the period of time when I was not updating drop off the scan, or will I still be penalized for it even if I am now going to update every two weeks?

Delta has a requirement of updating your app at least once every 60 days. If you do not update your app every 60 days your app will be pulled from the system and Delta can not look at it. It's recommended to update your app every two weeks or at least once a month but at a minimum of every 60 days.

So if i let it slide a couple of times over the 60 days mark, but have begun started doing every 30 days, does the system then let Delta start looking at it?

Does changing a single field in the application constitute "updating"? The reason I ask is I am recovering from an injury and have a few more months before I can fly again, so the only thing I'll get to "update" is my tanking flight time for the last 12 months (along with decreased instrument approaches for last 6 months).

I should be flying again by February, with an availability date in July.

Just say that at the interview. Question #2 for me at interview in '10 was "So say your Captain is not wearing his hat, what do you do?"

4FF. Yep, any change in the app will do it. Fix a spelling/grammatical error, change your flying look back, add a reference, etc. those are all updates.

Most importantly, get a DAL employee to send an email to the pilot selection team.

Best of luck.

No that wasn't me. I have only been to Morbach once and that was over a year ago. And I'm no fighter pilot - I flew P3s. KC10 pilots don't suck at all - isn't it literally the fighters that suck off you up there? Anyway I hope it doesn't take 7 years.
