No, but if you've got significant manned flight experience prior to your RPA tour, AK says they have a big picture for military pilots, understanding that keeping flying currency at the FGO level is a tough thing to do in the current environment. But give him something to work with - fly some GA if nothing else (CAP is a super good deal, or rent yourself out as a CFI).

I wish I had IP, but I keep changing planes every two years. I have around 2500 manned total and probably about 800-1000 AC plus ATP complete.

Two separate people in the schoolhouse has said that hiring is going up to 135/mo in 2015. (Not sure that is 100% true. Take it for what it's worth)

2 new 737-900 sims will be up and running in February and they need double the instructors they currently have to make it work. They have already started preparing the sim bays for them to show up.

Full throttle on training!

I'd guess that's pretty good time that'll put you in the zone to be competitive. I'd do everything you could to stay actual airplane current though, even it its CAP or local flying club, etc.

Default Availability Dates vs Interview Invite Dates

Hey, I'm a mil Herc driver retiring summer 2015. Have app in w/DAL for a few months. No calls/emails yet. 2400 Herc time, 1100 Herc PIC, 130 Herc IP time, and another 2500hrs of rotor head time.

I was wondering if any of you guys know if the "availability date" on the app impacts DAL's interview invitation dates e.g. my availability date is 01 May 2015 so, should I even expect any kind of interview invites until that date is within a certain window of time?

Thx in advance for any info gents!

A call 2-3 months from your availability date is the gouge.

I heard that it does effect your calls for an interview. They are avoiding pools and mil deferments. I'm sure there are exceptions but this is what my rumor sources said.

You didn't mention it one way or the other, but without an internal LoR or a job fair it will take considerably longer for anybody to even look at your application. From my squadron's experience, most of us got the call from DAL around the 10-12 month point after submitting our applications. We all had 3k+ fighter/trainer and 1k+ IP time for reference. I don't know if they care about turboprop vs turbine, and I don't know how they handle rotor time. Best of luck!
