Well, then I guess everyone should get on with the squadrons my bros are from, because they're getting hired. Sorry, just the facts I hear. I have yet to hear of one not getting hired after the interview. Just the facts folks. Not trying to start anything, just the facts. Seriously, once again, not trying to start anything. Delta is hiring.

Well, have you been hired by DAL?

Did you bomb (space) bard them with stories of greatness, thus getting the nod?

Once again this is about facts I hear on the ground, not me. So why attack me John? Anyways, for those that don't want to get caught up in the attacks, Delta is hiring and I've heard of dudes (fighter) 2k and (heavies) 3k getting hired. So keep your resume up to date, and I've heard e-mailing them with the update will have them look at your resume and maybe get called.

Fair enough man, I'll keep it to just a simple question;

Those "facts" are anecdotal. I have recommend 6 good people, and none have gotten the call. <--- more "facts."

I think the "pulse" comment was a bit insensitive.

In this case, that's exactly right.

Definitely there are anecdotal occurrences of relatively low-time mil getting hired. Maybe something extraordinary in their background. Especially in this time of history, wouldn't be at all unusual for a mil pilot with ATP mins to be lugging around not simply a masters degree and "extracurricular merit points," but a Silver Star and/or DFC with V to boot.

I can't tell you I have the answers for those anecdotes. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career… oh, wait… wrong movie.

Anyhow, because of said career, I've been blessed to work with an amazing group of pilots. Guys and gals who have accomplished eye-watering feats in the most challenging circumstances. And because of that, I've been in a spot to write many, many recommendations for airlines (not just B6 and DAL) and other careers for military folk who are pulling the handles. Without exaggeration, last year I probably wrote at least one recommendation a week and often many more for everything from the airlines to Reserve/Guard units to doctoral programs to Johnson & Johnson.

Since getting hired at DAL, I've written a lot of DAL recs and have to date helped in some way or another slightly over 100 (again, not exaggerating) pilots with the hiring/interview process. Not a business, just my attempt to help pilots get a leg up and to help Delta get as many pilots junior to me as quickly as possible, so that when my jelly donut plan finally begins taking effect I'll be in a good spot… so in the end it's all about me, right?

I've also submitted a good handful of names to the desk, even as a newbie. Each of those have been amazing pilots I know and with whom have flown personally, whom I would say easily merit Tier 1 - but I don't make that decision.

However, DAL seems to agree with me at least to some extent. All but one of those have gotten the call within a couple months of that email (well, another guy also, but he temporarily pulled his app). And everyone of that group who has gone to the interview has received the CJO.

The one who has not been invited yet was just shy of that ~2,500hr mark I mentioned earlier. Having reviewed his app against others, that is the best explanation I have. I thought his other merits would put him over the edge, but I was wrong. He is rectifying the flying hour issue as we speak, and I believe he will get an opportunity soon.

Facts heard on the ground are not facts, but anecdotal statements. Unless you have hard actual data giving a breakdown of hiring stats from HR, your "facts" are specious as best.

They are not at this point at all - this is fact. Regionals are at this point because no one wants to work for them because of the low wages. I can confirm the regionals have hired several that they were hopeful of passing the training, but couldn't because they were not experienced, but they did have a pulse.

Delta will most likely not be at this point for another 5 years if even then. Delta has better compensation packages now than any other passenger major first year.

Take this from a 6k+ hr guy that is WANTING an invite from DL. I also know many other sharp guys that are in my shoes as well. You have posted other good information before, but don't lose credibility with posts like these.

Trust me, the competition is still very fierce trying to get an invite to interview.

One more unsolicited piece of advice. If I were sitting on a good bit of quals and was hearing only the sound of crickets for months, I'd suggest two things:
1) Get somebody to review my app who would check it both for missing/incorrect info and competitiveness. Bonus if they'd give me suggestions for things within my control I could do to improve my state. I understand AeroCrew does this for a Benjamin. I've done it gratis for many I know, but I've seen probably only a score of them, the pros have likely seen hundreds.
2) if I was competitive, drop the bones for ECC or AeroCrew prep.

For the record, I'm not associated with either program, and manged to be hired under the blind squirrel rule without using either. But nearly every other pilot I know who had been hired on this wave has used one of them or even both. I've talked to Albie from ECC and based on my discussion and other fellow pilots who know and have flown with him, assess him as a genuine righteous dude. Nothing but positives either from ACS.

Expensive? Yes. Just like buying your interview threads. Worth it? I guess that's up to you to decide.
