2. Everyone is different, just because people don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean they are wrong and you are right.

Corporate America, especially one as competitive as aviation, uses these hiring procedures for a reason and a reason that justifies the expense. Hiring people is awesomely expensive and firing them, union represented even more so, awesomely expensive and difficult. Hiring psychologists, writing tests, raking management pilot time, and reviewing apps must be worth it or it wouldn't be done.
Hundreds of corporations cannot be wrong and airspeed1974 clairvoyant.
Speaking of which, thinking you are owed an interview because you "paid your dues" is beyond entitled. DL, UCH, AA and every other employer owes you nothing until you are employed.

If he was flying the Grand Canyon in 1997, he totally missed at least 3 hiring periods where he had every chance in the world to fly for a regional airline in the U.S. I was flying the GC in 2000, at a regional less than a year later, and Delta by 2007. Nearly 20 years after his first flying job and still has no degree??

Some people pay way more dues than they need to which reflects on them as a person.
