100+% agree with you. I'm a 121 regional guy, but did 91/135 prior to this environment. Funny how so many state the regional work is hard, but I feel the 91/135 was even harder. As GF stated and you mentioned, it is a much harder world in the 91/135 environment doing everything: cleaning plane, picking up specific catering from grocery store, fixing the coffee, fixing all the array of drinks, loading pax bags, fueling airplane, flight planning, etc. You are the dispatcher, ramp guy, cleaner, FA, pilot, etc. so when it comes to customer service you do it all and deal with some very high clientele face to face each day. On top of that on call 24/7 and gone way more than 121 lifestyle would keep you gone.

It amazes me in a lot of ways you guys aren't the top pick of guys to get on, but like GF said the hiring boards don't see and know all you do. There is no doubt that 121 flying is very different than your current world, but what you would find is in most circumstances it is much easier than what you are doing and you would be super easy to train to do it.

Best wishes for you. Hopefully we will all get a shot soon.

Thanks..... I'll just have to keep working at it. Doing a lot of networking, going to the conferences, and updating my app after I get back from a trip.

Has anyone used one of the consulting companies' application review services? Just wondering if you thought it was worthwhile?

Sounds a lot like what we did in little MAC!
Coming to Delta, I found it to be the easiest flying I had ever done. "You just want me to fly from A to B? No low level, no goggles, no airdrop, no LAPES, no random steep or shallow or assaults, no PNAF?"

Us 91/135 guys have lots of TMAAT stories and customer service examples for sure.

You guys would be at the top of the list if I were choosing the interviewees. Definitely the most challenging, least supported (operations wise), demanding flying in aviation. You have the respect of your fellow aviators so do keep working.

IMO, for some reason, 121 major dept.'s want 121 or military experience. Many here have your background. Very few however came straight from GA. Usually some 121 after GA. Best of luck to you!

You're saying that you value highly the experience of a corporate pilot and wish that their experience was given greater weight in the selection process (a perfectly valid opinion, don't get me wrong) and in the same breath wondering why military pilots are given so much preference? I had probably the easiest flying job in mil aviation and it was a great degree more challenging than the corporate flying I did.

Flying charter/91, one has several balls in the air at once and it is in the previous poster's opinions that we should be weighed just as heavily as traditional candidates.

You would be surprised at just how challenging some corp jobs are. When you put them both on the table corp flying has a lot more in common than mil flying does when it pertains to an airline. On the same note the challenges are different and while some corp pilots will most likely not see (except for those of us that have flown in Africa and certain other areas) trust me it can be extremely challenging and we are not just talking about the flying side either
