You need to get your app scored.

A good showing at a job fair will do it. "We know not all the qualified candidates out there know an active pilot working at Delta. We'd be crazy not to look for candidates at job fairs." (rough quote from months ago)

Or you can have a current Delta pilot write a letter for you.

If your app scores high enough you will get an invite.

I doubt doing both will help, but it probably can't hurt. The app has to stand on its own merits.

(Me: no job fair, 2 internals)

This is the information I was looking for. Thank you.

so serious question....I'm a recently separated mil guy, have a few internals and just had a buddy send the internal email...he received the acknowledgement yesterday.....I have a 'fast pass' time with DAL at WIA on Sat....should I switch it to another carrier since my app will be scored already? or keep pressing?

Without answering in an open forum, where do you really want to work? If it's Delta and you have a fast pass, use it there. Tell them you have an internal but you really want to work at Delta so you used your pass to meet them to emphasize the point. If you would really rather work somewhere else, use it with another carrier.

I really don't know if it helps to have both, but it can't hurt.

At Delta, is going to a job fair similar to having an internal pilot send an email to HR? Is going to the job fair more important? Should I do both? Please, someone shed some light on this for me.
I'd also love to get an idea of out of those who have been extended the invitation or been hired, how many of those guys and gals went to a job fair.

Let me put it this way. This will be my third job fair this week that I will be attending, has it helped me? I don't really believe so but I'm not willing to risk the idea or potential of it helping me if it really can. I have met a couple of recruiters that do the interviews and have become friends with them so maybe one day when I do get the invite, I might just be lucky enough to interview with one of these people I have already met. For my dream job I'd be willing to go to whatever great lengths I could if it meant getting me the invite. With that being said, it's all about your application. The job fair will get your app pulled and reviewed and that could be that difference you need. Their are no additional points that your app will get from going to a job fair but their are still other perks I would not want to pass up.

I like it. Cheers h...

Just have a quick question about the HR email. A few weeks ago, it was stated that once an application is scored and tiered, a rescore will not change much. Someone else was of the opinion that nearly all of the applications I've already been looked at and scored.
So the question I have is how would the HR email help an application that's been on file for awhile?

Just because its been "on file" for a while doesn't mean its ever been scored. Plus, any query that forces it to be scored will at least get it scored currently. Usually that means more flight time and perhaps other things (degrees, vol work, etc) as well as a longer time with an active app, which supposedly does mean something as well.

That makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Hey for you military types that went to the interview, what did you bring for the part that asks for written copies of your past evaluations?

In other words did you bring anything besides oprs, form 8s, 942 (check ride history), and the flying history report? Did you bring your big fat flight records folder?
