The very nice lady at the desk takes everything from you, then puts it in a Delta folder. So, any time and effort you put into a presentation is quickly destroyed the moment you walk up to the counter.

You don't need to present an NDR. They will have you sign a paper authorizing THEM to order an NDR on you.

I did make a back up copy of everything JUST in case, but never ended up using it.

If you're military, I brought my original FEF and checked out my flying records from the HARM office. The interviewer did look through them for what it's worth.

One piece of info I never saw on these boards, I presented my original passport at first, but was told it wasn't needed when I turned in my paperwork. It isn't. Turns out they use it on the SECOND day when they take your picture for your ID. So don't leave it in your hotel room like I almost did, thinking it wasn't necessary! 😄

They'll put it in a folder if the one you brought your stuff in doesn't work for them. Most of your paperwork is going to the interview panel where you will be sitting. So 3 people will be looking at what you brought. I sorted all of my paperwork out in page sleeves, in exactly the order they wanted, and had it all organized in 2 presentation folders (separated how they wanted it). When I arrived for my interview panel, my paperwork was still in the binders that I presented it in. That meant, no one at the front desk had to do any work to rearrange it or reorganize it. So I am also of the opinion that taking the time to present the paperwork that they asked for, in the order they asked for it, goes a long way toward showing you really care about why you are there. My .02 cents.

Tee,

The folder I have is a simple manila 2 fastener file folder. Paper would be double hole punched at the top and flip along the short edge. On the left side, I am planning on putting items 2-11 from the invite email and on the right side the additional paperwork from the Air Force. Do you think that would work or was there an advantage to using (plastic?) page sleeves? That seems like a lot of sleeves, also I was under the impression they will write notes on your app as you go over it which would seems cumbersome if it's in a sleeve. Did you print double sided? You said you placed it in two different folders separated the way they wanted. What way is that? I didn't see anything in the email specifying this.

Sometimes it's the little things that go along way. Thanks for the info!

MTSU, I sent you a PM (and am adding characters to meet the minimum to submit this reply, what a PITA).

You guys should do it as the email suggest. Please don't bind or stable your documents. Don't be special - follow simple directions.

I.E. If asked for a clean approach stall demo don't do a dirty approach stall. Glad you can do it but that's not what was asked.

^^^ This. They spell it out for you in an email regarding how they want it. There are numerous ways to present it to them within the guidelines that they provide. Use their instructions and make it easy for them to go through when you get there. This should really be the least of your worries heading to the interview.

This! The guy who used to run the UPT hiring boards at my Guard base put a very specific instruction of compiling your paperwork and then putting a staple in the upper left hand corner (in bold print). You wouldn't believe the amount of apps that showed up spiral bound, in plastic sleeves, ie...not a staple in the upper left hand corner. He didn't even take a look at them, just tossed them in the trash. When you have over 100 apps for 1 position it's an easy way to filter some out. Attention to detail...

Don't do anything special with your paperwork. Just do it as described. I would say it would be a good idea to make color copies or both sides, centered on the page of you passport, license, certs, medical, FCC. Looks much better that a black and white copy with toner streaks.

Neat and orderly, as asked for, no special bindings or staples/clips.

I put all the forms/copies they asked for looseleaf in plastic sleeve protectors

During my interview in 2013, they asked us for the items in order, and we handed them around the table, adding our "Form A" on top of the stack, then our "Form B," and so-on, and so-on. I saw some staple pulling going on elsewhere.

Exceptions: I left my AF Flight Eval Folder in its original green cardboard folder, and put all my HARM docs in a new, clean pocket folder, with each section held together with a binder clip. I put a memo in front explaining how I'd entered my mil time into AirlineApps.

Surprised nobody has asked about the "admission tickets" (a lot of pilots miss this, but it's in the same paragraph of the invite that tells you to wear a navy suit and red tie). Some pilots clipped them to the front of their logbooks and the bottom of the copy of their AirlineApps printout. I thought it would be slicker to hand it over in person, so instead of studying for the knowledge test, I spent a week learning how to palm Benjamins and pass them unobserved during the initial handshake, drug-deal style. Worked for me.

14K,

I'm not trying to be a unique snow flake (although I sometimes tend to overly focus on the little details!). I'm not sure what email you are referring to? The only email I've received so far was the initial invite where it says the following (and doesn't specify a layout).

Attachments: What to Bring

----------------------------------------------------------------
*** What to Bring ***

1. Up-to-date flight log books or appropriate military flight records
2. Official college or university transcript that reflects the degree awarded and your GPA
3. Copy of your current pilot certificate and FAA First Class Medical
4. Copy of your valid ATP written exam (If you do not currently possess an ATP Rating)
5. Copy of your FCC Radio Operator's License
6. Drivers license
7. Copy of your Drivers license
8. Valid Passport
9. Copy of the information page of your passport
10. If available, written copies of your past evaluations and line checks
11. A printed copy of your airlineapps.com application

The DPS team said that I should receive a second email about 2 weeks out from the interview. Maybe that's the email you are referring to? Anyhow, loose leaf in page sleeves is what I'll plan on.

Thanks
