You don't lose it per say, unless you've already traveled S2 on a leg that day. In any case, once you use an S2, you remain an S2 even for the next empty flight for example. So if you use an S2 and don't get on, and you don't want to still be an S2, change it back.

I thought I read somewhere that they didn't want us doing that. It could result in a seat going out empty if things get busy at door close time with people standing by. The way you describe would probably technically work, but I'm not sure we're supposed to do that.

Edit: as others have mentioned this appears to be a definite no-no.

The above will work but is prohibited by the company and may well result in a suspension of non rev benefits.

I must be ignorant on this issue. Do most other airlines bump revenue passengers to help flight crews commute home?

Interesting first couple of posts.

I would not follow this guy's advice if you're on probation. Those workarounds can and will get you canned. Will you get caught? Maybe not. But is it worth the risk?

And if you're not on probation, those things will jeopardize your pass privileges, making it much tougher getting to work, and totally hosing your pass riders.

I thought there were a few things that could get you bumped off the jumpseat, and subsequently off of a full flight - FAA inspector claiming the seat, broken jumpseat, inoperable O2 mask at the jumpseat, etc.

I know that is not your point, but I guess my point is that it seems that not much is 100% guaranteed with free personal travel here.

If those are the case and you have the JS reserved, call skeds and you'll get positive space in the back. Company will bump a paying pax if necessary.

80 kts clmp is correct.

Per commuting policy aren't you suppose to allow two flights before your scheduled report time? So assuming there is another flight you can take would scheduling still put you on positive space?

Sorry. Yes, a backup is always required as a commuter
