How much debt do you want? Oh, by the way...SWA finally saw the light a few years ago. They no longer require a type. I’d say don’t do it. Any type on your ticket that you’ve never used would just look plain silly...Just my $0.02.

Although, not as hard as you make it seem. I had to turn down a couple academies. It was a tough decision.

I read his post twice, once at your reading rate, I assume. Where did you get anything about ICE in that post?

Or was that a joke that flew over my head?

Ok Poindexter,

Some of thre information on the forum is factual, some is strictly entertainment, an some is both.
Twice in my post I stated that most of my post was in jest...you failed at being able to decipher what I stated twice and took offense. In true liberal fashion you started by taking one of my posts, butchering to fit your needs and painted yourself as a compassionate feeling individual pilot and mean ole' me as a heartless, uncaring, turd.

My point was simply....hundreds of thousands of pilots have figured out how to get a college education....if he can't figure it out then maybe you ought to set up a gofundme site for him

Capisce?

Ps....maybe for Christmas Santa will bring you a sense of humor if you are a good boy or girl

ALERT...ALERT....THAT WAS A JOKE!!

I agree tuition is crazy. It's outright scandalous. So much so, in fact, that I predict that a "major university bubble" will burst in the not too distant future. People are running out of reasons to waste $250K on a gender studies degree. As long as the govt doesn't do something absurd like try to pay for everyone's tuition, kids are going to start looking elsewhere. And it can't come too soon, these institutions are losing credibility.

If we're looking at this from the perspective that a pilot needs a bachelor's degree to get hired at a major... we're talking about a means to an end, not education or knowledge. So, go online: fraction of the cost and infinitely more flexible. Or go to a community college for the first two years, and then go waste your $$ at the major university if that piece of paper is so important.

However, if "knowledge" matters, again go online. I haven't verified this myself, but I've heard most prestigious Universities post their curriculum and lectures online for free. Also, for pennies you can learn web design and marketing on websites like skillshare. The content is there if these kids are interested... the piece of paper, however, that'll cost you. The upside is that the market is becoming less interested in what is becoming a meaningless representation of "work ethic", and more interested in tangible skills. It'll be interesting to see if the rest of the airlines follow suit.

Look into “guaranteed student loans.”
The government has used these over the past decade or more to put people into indentured servitude. And if you don’t think they are in bed with the major universities, I can sell you some oceanfront property in Arizona.

In the meantime, don't become a socialized human being while becoming angry at everyone that didn't do exactly what you did. Then get really mad when you don't get hired at a mainline carrier because you're a troll that no one wants to associate with.
