Maybe if your friend wants to be hired at SWA. I don't know if DAL cares about previously held types.

If anything it could make it more difficult since most people who get a 73 type are doing it to try to get on with SWA. It makes it tough to be convincing that DAL is where you really want to be in an interview when you have a type rating without a purpose except for getting hired at SWA. What I mean is it's one thing to have a type because you were using it for something, another to have one that implies you got it to get on somewhere different.

This. They asked me in my interview if I had type.

Look good in it. Be comfortable in it. Make sure it fits and it's not the first time you've ever worn a suit. An ill-fitting suit is one self-distraction you don't need on interview day.

You should look at yourself in the mirror and like what you see; color is much less important.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't recommend light blue polyester leisure suit with bell-bottoms and platform shoes, no matter how comfortable you are in those.

Don't matter just look sharp. I wore blue with a blue/red/white checked tie and the first thing the panel side was 'nice tie'. I think they get bored of the same ol' thing. One dude had on what appeared to be his grandfather's brown suit and got hired FWIW.

On my interview day one wore tan and got hired. Bold choice, not one I would make, but it worked for him.

Yeah, the brown suit guy is super cool and I knew him from my airline but I wouldn't have done it either. Just stuck in another era suit-wise I guess

Had a fellow on a Spirit thread awhile back interviewing with them. Asked about a yellow suit. I offered this link. Never heard if he actually got one, and if he did, did he get the job...or get laughed out of the interview room.

Contrary to that "popular" belief, getting into an Academy or a full ROTC scholarship is not so flippantly easy as you make it.
