Or cheat and memorize something for face value and never know the meaning behind what you are memorizing...aka comprehension...a higher form of learning
I did what you say. I studied my butt off and got to Delta. That said, I remember 0% of what I studied. It did pay off but it was absolutely worthless as I could have just used gouge. YMMV.

Nevermind that the gouge is not considered "cheating." You're expected to have done your homework preparing for the interview and can expect to be asked what kind of preparation work you have done. I did a whole lot of studying... but I also was sure to review the gouge to get an idea of what to expect. It's not like the gouge gave me specific answers to any written questions, although it did prepare me for how some were setup and ensured I knew how to arrive at the correct answer.

Don't try to rehearse or memorize answers. Practice how you're going to arrive at them.

To add to that, I've flown with guys who were hired 25-30 years ago who talk about a special binder that their squadron buddies passed around with tons of interview info for DAL, UAL, & AAL. It's not certainly not something new.

Hiring abates in March until Fall 2019 which will likely be high tempo.

The early retirements are about 1% of scheduled. FWIW.

They were good with efficiency improvements. Wider planning by network and making out stations more homogeneous in aircraft type help a lot, 320 and 737 fleet flexibility is something that really helps... them be more efficient.
Lots of contradictory info out there, anyone see any recent updates to the 2019 forecast?

600 pilots give or take a few. Might go down a bit if the A330-900’s get delayed much. RR is a bit behind on engines.

Thanks! Any idea about the pace of classes/size of classes throughout the year?

Well, 4 weeks ago, at the SLC roadshow, the Crew Resources guru said 50 in Dec 2018, another 200 in Jan-Mar 2019 then nothing til Autumn 2019 at which time 80-90 per month essentially forever.

But then again, the same guy said no AE until Dec/Jan.

I guess grain of salt rule is still in effect.

600 hires... 800 retires....

I went to Tennessee, but even I don't have to take off my shoes to do THAT math.
