It is actually a Delta requirement. The 'Delta Air Lines Pilot Recruiting' page on facebook has a post talking about this.
"We’d like for everyone to list all of their civilian pilot certificates and ratings, except for type ratings, as professional development courses in the education section of AirlineApps. (...) These instructions are not included in the AirlineApps instructions for the since this is a Delta requirement and the education section of the application is generic to all airlines."

I just spoke to my fat thumbs and by "tho" they did in fact mean type ratings. Also looked up on the FB page and found the post. It does say all ratings EXCEPT type ratings. So I'll be removing those tonight.

I can’t see that it would be a negative, they know the apps are generic

No idea on how much they are backed up waiting for class with cjo, but I think it’s safe to say we will be have 70+ in class per month starting in January and going throughout the year.

If, however, it contradicts specific instructions on the application, I'd personally follow the directions on the app. Not only are the applications generic, they also change over time. The FB post may be 'outdated information' and by NOT following the directions on the application (if spelled out) you may be shooting yourself in the foot. Just my opinion regarding following directions and attention-to-detail, both of which most airlines value.

I would do my best to follow the instructions on the application to the letter (if spelled out). Following a FB post needs to be evaluated for the 'post-er' and date. If it is for a specific airline and it 'goes above and beyond' the minimum outlined in the instructions, I'd say do it.

I would tend to agree with you. The FB post comes directly from the Delta Pilot Recruitment page and specifically says to list under education section where and when you obtained all certificates and ratings EXCEPT type ratings. My original post was pertaining that I thought it was odd that such a highly regarded application review and interview prep service such as Checked and Set had told me to I should list my type ratings when the Delta page said not to.
