OC, there were a lot of good things that NW had, like sick leave rollover and accrual, that got lost in the merger unfortunately.
I'm glad some of the good stuff did come across, like the PS seat to commute to work if your jumpseat and backup flights cx. And the ability to book JS on iCrew, and vacation slide, etc.
On the new hire F/A thing, I think it should be mandatory that they get to work some international flights, since they'll be sitting reserve, they might get tagged for one.
And I think we should get to pick which F/A's, and which flights!

I'm looking for the best places to live in the Atlanta area. I'm retiring from the AF and not wanting to commute. I'm married with two kids, one still in elementary and one in middle school. Since I'm not very familiar with the area, any advice is much appreciated.

Peachtree City in the south. Alpharetta, Marrietta and Sandy Springs in the north.

On the north side, east cobb county is good. Three great school districts there (Walton, Pope, Lassitter HS). I live in the Lassitter district and love it. A little further to the airport than south side and a bit more traffic , but I'm closer to the lake and closer to the mountains. South side is plenty nice. Just too flat for me. You'll get as many opinions as ATL pilots, so my advice would be to rent for 6 mo. to 1 yr. until you get a feel for the area. PM me if you want any north side info. Welcome!

Second on the rent idea. Also, if you're planning on public schools you can tell a lot about an area based on school ratings (probably obvious). Take a look at redfin and click on each school to see it's district. For instance, fayetteville is not known to be a target by many, but if you look at the starrs mill school district it includes some of brooks, ptc, and fayetteville and this "area" is very nice.

What was the latest rumors on when people would enter training? Both OTS and flows? I'm a December CJO and can't find much out. Latest I heard was the people who got the CJO in the past couple weeks were told "by the end of the year" for a training slot. Any new news?

Use the school function on zillow because you can select private or public and the public schools draw out the school zone for that particular school. Also remember, zones change though.
In my county I live east of 400, the schools are all 10 out of 10s except for two elementary schools that are 9 out of 10. But it's 1 hour to the parking lot, 30 minutes (seemingly longer nowadays) to the crew room after that. GA 400 is awful at certain times.
