Feb 6th interview class is getting calls right now. Rumor is two classes of 50 each in June. June 2d and June 16th.

He said the 16 June class will have "others" in it as well. I understood he meant flow throughs and not 100% off the street, but he didn't say how many of each.

He also suggested that folks not pay much attention to the spreadsheet on this forum. Lol. I guess it's biting some guys in the butt with their planning. Assume you are going soon!

 

Not trying to throw spears and I know the hiring people are busy and have a lot on their plate and are dealing with a lot of people and turmoil as things ramp up. All of us will jump at the first opportunity for an interview or a class date and are thrilled to be here. But....I would respectfully disagree with the suggestion people not pay attention to the spreadsheet or the rumors. When I was waiting on my background check I called in February to check on it and was basically told "no news is good news, you'll be later in the year and don't call us back until the summer". Had I done that I wouldn't have been able to get out of my current job in time to get the class date I do have.

Like I said, this is not a slam the hiring people, the process, or Delta. Just passing on what happened to me and telling people that it's their career and to pay attention to what is going on time wise and be prepared. This forum and the spreadsheet are two pieces of information that helped my timeline a lot as I transitioned from one job to the next.

I would defiantly pay attention to the spreadsheet for an idea of what is going on. The hiring people told me to expect class in September. I started 2 months ago......

I understand things change, but knowing how many guys are ahead of you and what the latest hiring gossip is can help you plan at least a target timeframe. If I would have gone strictly on what the hiring guys said, I would have been blindsided and not able to make my class. My .02.

 

I would use every resource available, but realize that the spreadsheet and predictions could be way off because there are many unknown variables and changes to hiring. Some guys signed up for Guard or Reserve deployments based on the earlier predictions of Fall/early Winter training, and now they aren't available at first opportunity. Keep the info coming and help everyone out! Thanks!

 

Spreadsheet was dead on for me. Also, all of us CJO folks kept in contact with each other. So we knew what was happening.

Interview candidates this week have been told 100 new hires total in class for June and July. The pool will be empty very soon.

 

So 50 per month, or 100 per month?

Everyone's been talking about 100 for June and likely 100 in July, but if you literally wrote what you heard, that cuts that in half.
