DAL Poolie Info
#2021
Here is the updated spreadsheet. As previously reported looks like 50 in the Jun 2 class with a few deferments. Hires from Dec 19 to Feb 4 in the 2 Jun class (approx. 66 CJOs) so either some deferments, dropped out of the pool, or my numbers are wrong.
Note: New spreadsheet link due to trouble with the old one.
I have very little info on CJOs after Feb 20, so this spreadsheet will rapidly lose its usefulness if I don't get the number of CJOs offered after Feb 20.
Finally, a personal question. I will be commuting for about a year from DFW with the hope of eventually getting out west (SLC or SEA). Any ideas for best aircraft to start out in to get off reserve quickest. Anyway, best of luck to all those starting. Keep sending me updates especially on class drops. Cheers,

Taking normal leave for indoc then return on a Thursday...load up house over weekend...and then go on 86 days of terminal. Was hoping to have a month or two off this summer but couldn't pass up the opportunity and double pay keeps the family happy. Feel very fortunate that my timing has worked out and excited about the next phase of life with Delta.

Now, if you're in the process of retiring and have orders I wouldn't blame a guy for taking as early a class as possible (use some leave for the indoc) and then use the time before training to put in those 9 or 10 days before going on terminal leave. HOWEVER, what if they say your training starts three days after indoc? (plug in my indoc class had all of three days off before his 5-6 weeks of training started). Before accepting the early class I would make sure AK understood the situation and gave his blessing.

If I remember correctly, they're supposed to give you at least 10 days off, between Indoc and IQ (Initial Qual training). It's going to be aircraft/pipeline specific, but coming out of a Jan Indoc, the shortest guy(s) had about 2 weeks, and the longest closer to 4. Regardless of the situation you end up in, just don't forget that it's a good problem to have...

Notwithstanding GunshipGuy's experience, I heard a rumor it might be stretching longer due to sim capacity. (uncanny you answered my other question while I was writing this)

A friend of mine had two weeks after Indoc and started a week ago. A guy on a two day jumpseat observation ride with us last week said he had three days.

Per the contract you have to have 7 days. A guy in my class had less and they fixed it. They are no longer doing less than that. However, I would plan on no more than 7-8 days.

Know a dude who tried that at another airline....when they found out he was on leave to get his training done, but still on active duty they were none too pleased. He was shown the door and asked to never apply again. I believe his "plan" was to get his training done and then claim he was on mil orders; that or try to get off active duty as quick as possible.

wouldn't it be acceptable do come to indoc while on leave if explicitly approved by the military? I believe military commanders can authorize civilian employment while serving on active duty, but I think it needs to be in writing. Also, concurrent civilian employment is always authorized on terminal leave. At any rate, I wouldn't "secretly" do this. I would coordinate this on both sides to see if anyone has an issue with it.
