Do you guys think going to obap job fair is worthwhile? I have been told that my app has already been reviewed and that by going to the job fair, would only get my app reviewed if it hadn't already been reviewed. I was told that I'm not likely to increase or get a better score on my app so going is not absolutely necessary, would you agree?

With that being said I'm a huge fan of these conventions and job fairs (and it is because OBAP is specifically holding a "career fair" portion) for the networking and chance to support great organizations that make a big difference in aviation. It paid off for me at Women in Aviation this year as I got the invite 4 days after meeting with the head of pilot selection, and I hope it pays off for you too. Remember, when it does, please help support those organizations moving forward to keep the door open for others to follow. Here's to a very bright future!

Cam youre a check airman correct? I would say yes its worthwhile to go. Your resume (and probably your social interaction) gets "scored" at OBAP, and depending on that score, that could get you an interview. It really depends on if you think your resume is so strong that you'll get that nod that will get them to go pull your application when they go back to the office down the road in ATL.

No, I'm not a check airman. I'm a sim instructor and from what I have been told that is not worth much on my app. I was told by a guy that does the interviews that if they were hiring sim instructors then I'd be one of the first to get a call but they are hiring line pilots and not sim instructors so not much weight goes into be an instructor. I kinda want to go to obap just to talk to Arnie about it and maybe they like to put a face with an app too. I just have a buddy that didn't think it would help me at all.

If it doesn't help, at least you tried to get noticed (and you'll know where you stand). You'll be better off going and knowing that you are exhausting all avenues, rather than just sitting at home complaining that they aren't calling you.
Now if you are only so/so on flying for Delta and don't really care either way, stay home. Otherwise, I'd do everything I could to get noticed.
