DAL Poolie Info

I just talked to a friend who was awarded SLC in August, he won't actually transition until December or January even though he doesn't require a training event. As a new guy I didn't realize just how much time could pass between award and action, especially considering no training.

The junior category at DL is NYC M88B. Always has been, always will be, until we retire the aircraft ca 2074. Bid this for the most direct vector for lineholding QOL.

ATL MD88 is currently 1-2 months to a line. Ton of movement(And Greenslips) on the Maddog.

Is there not an exception to that for situations where no training is required? I.E., I understood that a junior pilot(s) with an AE award that does not require training can convert ahead of a senior pilot(s) whose AE award does require training--yes/no?
#2977
Yes, he can. But that would have to be in seniority order among all pilots to that category who do not require training.

Follow-up question of my own, then: with no training required, why wouldn't it happen right away (at the very start of the conversion window) for all such pilots? Is there some sort of "metering" in place to keep a large group from leaving their previous categories...?
#2979
Presumably, that's the case. The pilots going to the new category must be replaced in their old category.

So that brings up a question from me. If you are on an initial 1-yr seat lock in type, does the 6-month conversion window count toward that 1 yr?
(i.e. can I begin bidding on a new airframe at the 6-mo point knowing I can't convert until an additional 6-mo, taking me to the 1-yr point?) I hope that's clear enough...
I would like to fly the 73N so I can eventually get CVG or SEA (if they ever pull the trigger of SEA having 73N's), but based my SSN, I am assuming I will probably get an MD88 or 717. Last 4 is 22XX.
