Indoc class size updates... I got the chance to talk with BB yesterday (24 Jul 15) and I specifically asked him about class sizes. He said they're on track to hire about a 1000 pilots a year. The TA had "no effect" on current class sizes or near-rock hiring plans. If the E190s were purchased, he said class sizes would have gone up slightly in Sep of 2016, but that's it.

Expect 20-25 flow throughs each month and off-the-street (OTS) hires holding class sizes around 30 until September where they'll go up to about "40'ish" and hold there for quite some time. Delta front loaded their large class sizes in the winter and plans to do that for CY16. So, seemed like very good news.

He did ask me about the wait time from the end of Indoc to training start (20 days for me... Low SSN), so I do know that's in his cross check as well.

unless i'm reading it wrong, how is that good news? 40 a month is on the very low end....and why are they hiring ~100/mo to put 40/mo in class? There will be a pool of 500+ people waiting with that.

How is that on the low end? Get in the pool and if somebody else calls whom you'd rather work for, no harm done. At least you didn't waste $1k on a sim.

I am in the pool. It's low because they have consistently been doing ~100/mo and the rumor was this was a drop for the summer and picking back up in the fall...even at the interview we were told expect an aug/sep class, at this rate we are looking at Feb...~8 months from interview to indoc

Read that again- 40/class. That would be 80/mo which in essence brings 30 more OTS/mo.

Any Increase is good. We all would have liked to be there the day before we interviewed but the industry has its own plans sometimes. It's caused a fair share of drama with my current employer. The sooner the better at this point.

Compass flows are done soon. The OTS will almost be to the pre-summer levels and it sounds like classes will increase in size over winter. The pool will empty quickly.
