Not convinced there is any plan to bring it to mainline...

In fact, I think in the not too distant future we are going to see a return of the two legs in and out of ATL to cover for the inability of DCI to handle the load... A 717 is equal to 2 50's and an 88 is equal to 2 76'er.

    ATL-MGM-ATL is a 50 seater
    ATL-AEX-ATL is a 50 seater
ATL-MGM-AEX-MGM-ATL could be done with one 717.

I think they'll up-gauge and hop before the flying comes to mainline...
and why wouldn't they take a stab at 82 seats in the current RJ fleet again... The NC or MEC would not go for it anyway, but I think they'll ask.

Call me confused but if they upguage and hop isn't that bringing the flying to the mainline?

Yes, very good point... I was referring to the airframes.

Bullet point from All Pilot's Memo: 2015 - A Look Ahead.

      • Complete negotiations on a new Pilot Working Agreement prior to the amendable date
This is the first time I've seen anything about negotiations from the company. I think it's interesting given conventional wisdom that the company should stall when employees have leverage. I think it gives us a little leverage if it's not lip service...which we won't know until until negotiations get started.

OR...perhaps the company wants us to give up more profit sharing, quickly, before they dump their fuel hedges this year and profits go even higher next year...

You weren't here to see how the company rushed us into doing that in C12K, but that was their game plan, and it worked for them, just before Delta started making huge profits.

This is exactly how c12 started. We thought we had leverage, and we did until dalpa ****ed it away. Next thing you know, we rushed into 4833 with a profit sharing giveback (plus other significant concessions).

I hope we aren't stupid enough to fall for it again.

Let's take our time and enjoy the massive profit sharing check we stand to earn in 2015.

Why would we give up profit sharing? And didn't you monetize the profit sharing that you lost in the last contract?

If the company really wants a contract sooner they are going to have to pay for it. We have no incentive to give up anything. I'm not convinced the company really wants a quick contract; if their opener has a profit sharing take-back I'd say that's a good indication they don't want a quick contract.

I don't think anyone here would dispute that an early C15 hinges on us selling our profit sharing. the company needs relief from the wall street jackals that are howling about "too much profit sharing," and they need that relief yesterday.

I think we we can all agree that there will be no early contract unless we give up profit sharing.

so let's not plan on an early contract.

Richard could have an early contract tomorrow, all he has to do is write the check!

      The 'problem' is, he doesn't want to write us a bigger check, he wants;

      "Labor Risk Off the Table".

Then earnings will go way up(again), stock price goes way up (again) and Richard's stack goes way up (again).

Your pay and benefits however, will still be below 2004 levels.
If he can once again talk us into trading away more of our profit sharing for more 3% raises...well...we are complete idiots.

I wonder if this is a "fleeting oppurtunity"?
