There is zero need for any relief/givebacks/concessions from us.
I agree. This doesn't seem to be a particularly good strategy for DAL if they intend to get either a quick or a cheap contract. "Oh! I can't pay you because I gave $5 billion away!" Really..? Dividends can make sense; airline stock buybacks make no sense to me. My price just went up. OFG

Almost right. I believe the company already knows what D-ALPA will "settle" for, with regard to the overall contract. See below:

I agree. The timing of this release is interesting.

I fear DAWGS might be on the right track: dalpa has already agreed to all/most of the concessions the company wants.

My price just went up

$5B in stock buybacks is 13% of the current market cap. All things are not equal in that because a stock buy back is mostly psychological, but in terms of pure static dollars it should increase the value of the underlying by 13%.

Stock options anyone?

Regional directors and some other CPO reps have been summoned to ATL.

Coupled with the emergence of the same sales reps from C12, all indications are that a TA is nigh.

I just figured out what's going on...

Richard must be going to pay us in Stock Options!

He's buying back enough to pay for our next 3 years of contracts!

And think of all the money we'll have once all those dividends start showing up!

Who needs a retirement when you've got 80,000 shares of Delta Stock?

Yee Haw!

OK...either that or...

We're buying Emirates!

A380 here I come!

The Negotiating Committee spent much of last week in closed or executive session with the MEC during the Regular MEC Meeting in Atlanta. The Committee was able to fit in some time for negotiations with the Company, and to address the Delta pilots’ position vis a vis various Company table positions. The Committee also received further direction from the MEC on a number of these issues. On Friday, the Negotiating Committee met with the Company to continue direct negotiations. Further negotiating sessions are scheduled for Monday – Wednesday this week.

Contrary to rumor, there have been no Section 3 Compensation proposals made by either side.
