Details on Delta TA

One more word about profit sharing. It is self funding. If we make a profit we get our share. If we don't there is nothing to share. It acts like a shock absorber during the financial cycles. That would make wages less vulnerable during lean times. I don't and Delta doesn't see that on the horizon for the next several years. Bankruptcy and Force majeure are the only things that could change that. Its hard wired in the contract now with an acceptable formula though the previous formula would have been better.

OMG!!! I read it on the internet, it MUST be true!
Quick, to the super concession rumor machine! We can spread the word far and wide to make sure that everyone can get as spooled up as possible over absolutely nothing factual!
/sarcasm
Stop with the rumor-mongering, please. For all our sakes. Do you really think for a second that the MEC would allow direction for something like that?
(Only asking the rational thinkers here, the conspiracy theorists will run with it anyway)

Oh, oh, kinda like when they tried to slip us CDOs in the LOA. Started from your super concession rumor machine too.

That was just a pedestrian LOA, not even a contract TA that garnered enough pressure to kill that concept cold in its tracks. Imagine the heightened visibility now.
It should be obvious that it's guaranteed that this wonderful communication tool we have will defeat any number of abhorrent Easter eggs, just like the CDO egg was summarily crushed.
Too many eggs in the TA and the risk of the whole TA getting crushed multiplies exponentially.
Like it not, welcome to the new paradigm.

History shows lots of things end up in TAs that the MEC never directed.
I'm cautiously optimistic this time though.
If the "rumor mongers" are correct about this last meeting; that the reps actually over-ruled the administration on some of these concessions; then that is "historic".

but for the right amount of money we can patch it. Eliminating that just gives them a staffing problem.
Now how much do spate aircraft cost per month? Why not eliminate that? Or.... is it worth it to pay for something not be used just si you have it when you really need it? How about 777 reserve pilots? Cut that would save a lot of money, ? No? But then what does a cancelled 777 turn cost?

Basically, if that is true, what they're after is the few who make a killing on soft time that only occurs when staffing is bad which isn't or fault.

FTB,
The devil will be in the details. If true, depending on the actuals language, it can and probably will greatly reduce GS's for all Pilots.
If reserve pilots are no longer getting GS # 2,3, 4 etc - regular landholders will be behind the reserve guys for multiple GS's. In other words - If the reserve Pilots will no longer see multiple GSs, either way the Line dogs.

Not to mention if they take away comp days - we will have much greater reserve availability all month > less GSs for all.
So while on the surface this appears to only affect a few senior reserve pilots working the "Rolling Thunder" beware, this will negatively effect greenies for all.
If true, and that's a big if, this may actually be good for us - There is no way a TA with multiple QOL concessions will pass memory rat.
