The best contract out there is probably AA. Why would the company want to give us anything above that contract especially early? Why on earth would any mediator award anything more than pax carrier rates at the end of an arbitration?

The company can sit on this if they really want. If you read my post about BATNA, this is the company's BATNA. Wait. Let it go to mediation. End up with a very modest 10% cost increase to their pilot contract. Shareholders are happy. We are not.
We are back to old school ways of stupid mgmt/labor relations.

I would MUCH rather have the Delta PWA than the AA one.

And PD I'm not saying there is no way that mediation wouldn't go slightly better than that.

But does anyone honestly think the NMB would ever release us to legal self help? Or any presidential administration?

Personally, I don't. The company obviously knows this. And it backstops their BATNA strategy. Keep in mind they can twiddle their thumbs and costs for them stay flat. If anything it encourages investment when it looks like capacity dumping may be on the horizon.

The way the law is structured the NMB would probably release us at some point. It would require that we be in what they call the zone of reasonableness and it would be a 3 to 5 year process once admitted into mediation.
The current track is likely to be far more lucrative for the Delta pilots. I want the solution that provides the most income and best quality of life. I don't need to thump my chest.

I agree 100%. Most income and "best quality of life." That is why it is very important that everyone contact their reps and let them know we are not willing to accept QOL concessions.

Yes, we understand that bargaining requires compromise and the company will have "wants," but that does not necessarily mean concessions on our part.

If the company asked for 25 additional 76 seat RJ's but tied it to a 4 to 1 ratio of additional 100 seat aircraft at the mainline and a net overall reduction of 50 airframes at DCI would that be a concession? We gain 100 mainline airframes and reduce the number of seats at DCI but the company gets additional 76 seat airframes. The Devil is always in the details. One mans concession could be another mans gold!

You know rumors are flying now.

I don't know honestly if the TA is good or bad, but I do think it'll pass if it passes the MEC so there's that.

And then after that, things are going to get really interesting here.

Hopefully we are as happy as the people in the back of the Rollercoaster, not as freaked out as the little girl in the front.
