As of May 29
The Negotiating Committee briefed the MEC that (as of last week’s meeting) there had not been any discussions with the Company about the “value” items (pay rates, profit sharing, DPSP contributions, overrides, etc.). Obviously we will get an update at next week’s Special Meeting.
Then TA complete and chairman's letter received on 4 Jun.
Somebody check my math.

Ok. Then use that as calibration if you like.
Carl, few words of advice.
I don't know you, obviously. And I don't pretend to understand your multivariate reasons for being so violently opposed to everything the union does.
But that's you. It's your opinion.
My advice is that perhaps you should dispense with the personal insults towards Capt. Donatelli.
If you wish to discuss things as fellow professionals let us do that. But every time you start name calling fellow delta pilots based on personal appearance you remind everyone of the middle school bully who grew up to be a drunken wife beater. Because he was abused at home every day growing up.
Your immaturity in these instances invalidates any chance encounter you have with logic and reason.
I would suggest leaving these things behind people may be more likely to see your points as valid.

Paradigm shift
The Airline industry is evolving into a mature industry because cost of capital and expenses have limited new entrants while mergers have consolidated the industry.
Here's the Boeing outlook.

Scope Bomb.
The new industry normal is a focus on profits and shareholder returns.
How does management handle capacity to ensure profits?
1) Reduce capacity to ensure pricing power.
2) Codeshare and JV to use others capacity to generate revenue.
How can you maintain brand standards to sell your tickets on others?
1) Get antitrust immunity so you can collaborate.
2) Take an ownership position to funnel returns and control standards.
Now that capacity is constrained by the big networks will growth ever return to historic levels? It may but unchecked market share grabs are unlikely. This means that with in a network system who does the flying will be highly competitive. If scope is given does it come back? NO!
Why is every airframe more valuable to the pilot group now?
1) There will be limited growth at best. New airplanes are replacements.
2) We have set the market price for out sourcing that violates the scope clause.
What is management’s next move?
1) Take an ownership in more foreign carriers. We already are part owners in Aeromexico and GOL. Open skies with Mexico is on the horizon. An Asian carrier would be an excellent addition.
2) Get JV immunity so you have a say in pricing, capacity and product standards.
3) Move capacity around at will when needed paying an infraction penalty, if necessary.
4) Shield ancillary revenues from contract pay considerations. Funnel revenue through investment where it is tied to others performance, not our own operation. Profit sharing is our only claw back of this flying.

Heh. I always assumed Carl's use of "Donutelli" was a reference to Donatelli driving pilots into the arms of the "donuts," ie DPA rather than his girth. Which may or may not prove to be true. One additional outsourced DC-9 replacement jet in an MEC-approved TA would have me not only voting no, but submitting a card to the DPA. I've resisted so far on the supposition that today's DALPA is not C2012's DALPA.

Really? Because I know several. Recently.
Are those flight attendants still flying? I've never seen a single one in an airport that looked a day over 25, and the same friends above stated policy was they are done flying at 27.
The entire UAE is a country built on cheap immigrant/slave labor. It's only a matter of time until the same thing happens to EK cockpits.

Also, I have personally never heard of an EK pilot getting his pay withheld. Anything else you would like to make up Grumble?
