These venues played a central role in banishing CDOs from the FAR117 LOA. Never would have happened a few years ago; the word never would have spread quickly enough to matter. We wouldn't have known a damn thing until it was too late.

Someone asked before--is anyone live-tweeting the meeting tomorrow?

If so, can you please post your twitter handle here or via PM? thanks!

Video of those trying to sell a medocre TA would be appreciated as well http://1.hidemyass.com/ip-2/encoded/...b24xNC5naWY%3D Many, including myself, would like to know who these guys are.

Damn you Timbo! Had to read it twice to get it. Had a drink of my wine when it registered and spewed red wine out of my nose. He is/was the gold guy too??

So, where do you sit on all this?

Good question, since I'm a newcomer and that was my second post, but basically the same as the first in another thread.

I sit in the "I'm too overwhelmed by all the rumors camp." However, my "NO" pencil is being sharpened in case some of what I'm hearing is true. Instead of repeating more or less what others have said, I will share my closing paragraph to Council 54 reps that I sent out Sunday night before I went to bed. My narrative that proceeded this simply touched, point-by-point, on the rumors and my perspective on them, if true.

"Delta Airlines is a good place to be in 2015. We are in the most positive negotiating environment of our careers. If the TA before you does not honor our past sacrifices, uphold Delta pilots' expectations, and reflect the business environment we have the good fortune to find ourselves in, please reject it. I can wait. We can wait."

While I stated no response was necessary, since I understand their time constraints, one rep did answer back. He voiced agreement with my most, if not all of my points.

I think I'll be able to attend tomorrow. It will all be known soon. Thanks to those who posted the time/place info.

Management is the one who needs this contract not us.
[/QUOTE

Care to give some reasons why?

Sailing I think that he means right now. Did you expect the contract 6 months early or at the amendable date?

"On time, On target" does not mean "Early and barely on the paper" Waiting for tomorrow to actually make my decision but will be willing to wait if some, if not all, of these rumors come true.

To keep labor off the table just like RA said. Unfortunately, we had Moak preaching how proud he was labor was off the table. Maybe it's time we make ourselves relevant again and make some threats? If they think we are bluffing, then maybe it's time to show them we are not. Just taking what they are willing to give us is no way to live. $6 billion in stock buy backs and they just throw $360 million our way? $30 million for an intentional scope violation? They don't respect us. Maybe it's time we start respecting ourselves and force them to respect us?

Because of the time value of keeping profit sharing right where it is for the next three years while the NMB parks us.

Because of the time value of not having the concessions for the next three years while the NMB parks us.

Next.

I would say for a few reasons:

1. They came to us early for a reason. Being mere line Pilots we have no idea what it is, but there is a reason. They want something fast.
2. They are behind on manning and the training pipeline will only grow.
3. They are unhappy with the current sick leave policy.
4. The potential profit sharing payouts will be huge and they are probably under pressure from Wall St/investors to do something about it.
5. Richard said "Labor issues are off the table at Delta." Surely he does not like to be wrong.
6. Scope. Our Scope numbers are now limiting. Every single time our Scope numbers are limiting we cave and set new numbers. When the new numbers are limiting we cave again. Repeat as necessary.

There are probably some other good reasons that I am omitting but the point is this: We are currently in a very good position.

If these rumors are even close to being true I pray that we get parked for a couple of years due to the RLA. The longer we delay this "Train Wreck" the better off we will all be.

To paraphrase that funny looking British dude "Time is on our side."

Scoop

One more thing, and this is very important. If we sign off on a mediocre deal now, in this current environment, we are done, toast, kaput. We will be diminishing our bargaining power for years if not longer. We will never ever get anything other than a mediocre deal at best in the future.

If we set the precedent of a mediocre deal in the best negotiating environment in memory why would management ever agree to anything more than mediocre?

I can think of a few more, sailing.

On the flip-side, if someone asks why we might want a deal now, and not in three years, I suspect the answers won't flow so easily.
