Sorry jerry, I can't sign a card as long as Caplinger is involved. He severely detracts from the organization. Surely someone else can hold that place.

This smells of a backroom deal.

No agreement with a full management shopping cart and no discussion of money items, then a short notice special MEC meeting with no agenda. Then a TA with all big ticket items, pay etc. settled in a day. After coming to a separate grievance settlement on scope? Hmmm. All right on management's timeline.

The only way to be sure is to make them continue to talk. Sending the negotiators back with a member mandate is a show of strength, not weakness. The roadshow will portray it differently. I can't wait to ask these traitorous questions. I am certain I will be marginalized as a radical. Now the grass has roots and I'm a big tuber just under the surface.

Take back your union or find one that works for you not management. I guess I will be renewing my DPA card. I thought we were going to be respected this time.

"on time on target" = on managements time and target
Last, best, final? What was the first, worst, lowball?

But this MEC leadership and NC have turned into an embarrassment. Is three nothing they will say NO to?

And the "Strategic Planning Committee", you know, the one with NO PLAN A, and NO PLAN B, needs to go back to flying the line TODAY! These guys have been living on Committee Chairman Pay too long.
Exactly. I suspect there is a reason why no plan B was presented by SP. A plan B would have derailed the quick deal. Better not present the MEC options...

I was thinking about this with FAs. They're so close to unionizing but unable to go over. They know the pilots are self serving and as long as the pilots make gains they do.

If pilot age pilot complains about this deal and the fact ps is being cut, the FAs might start to feel on protected.

So you may get enough to push the FAs to unionize which is probably a lot more costly then whatever they save in this pilot deal.

I think this could go sideways in ways they didn't seem to think through.

If the FAs start a union drive asap this month it could get interesting.

Actually, number one thing we should do is vote this down. If it gets approved, the yes votes won, any recall will be branded sour grapes and rank and file will move on.

It's either a no vote or status quo.

Go read what's now posted on DL NET r.e. the '737 and E190' purchase, and be sure you read all the way down to the final bullet point in the "6 things you need to know about the pilot agreement"!

Here's a hint, they are already telling the other employees there are changes coming to their compensation! Of course the spin it as a positive change, but we know better now, don't we! Stand by for your new 'enhanced' profit sharing!

Now, if that order was for 40 more 777's, so we could catch up with UAL and AA's wide body fleet, instead of more 737's, (you know, the 757 replacements for less pay) well, we could talk about it, but they are now 'selling us' our own little airplanes, complete with pay cuts to follow when you get displaced off the 757 to the 737, or off the MD88 to the E190!

Un-be-fk'g-lievable!

As pilots don't we always have a plan B? Don't we use pilots for negotiating against professional negotiators because they think like us?

So let's start thinking like them.

From now on, don't brief a second runway or missed approach. No plan Bs in honor of the NC.

What we have going for us is this, there are enough poison pills in the TA to sink it. Every pilot demographic is negatively affected. We won't be split, junior vs. senior, captain vs. first officer.

Someone in the union has to step up, speak openly about the cons of this TA. It's called leadership. All of the points have been presented here in a few short days. Is there anyone in the union that would do it?

This thinking makes me nervous. RA is a smart man - certainly smarter than me. I'm confident he and his minions have thought through and calculated every variable and are unlikely to be surprised. The only thing we can do is energize and educate (to an unprecedented degree) Delta pilots to make a smart decision about this TA and our representation. New representation would by definition be a complete unknown for them and is probably our only opportunity not to get rolled in the end.

The WHOLE INDUSTRY is counting on us to take a stand.
