Check my schedule if you want to find out if I'm collecting FPL.
Is accusing someone of being on FPL your best line of attack when someone thinks this TA might be okay to vote yes on. FYI: I'm still undecided. Leaning yes now.
Look, the concessions suck. I do not like the sick leave change or the LCA change. But we still get 14 days of sick leave no questions asked. And 270 a year for whatever you want with a note. Shouldn't affect anyone. If you need surgery get a note and get it done. If you're sick you're covered for 270. Sick leave has some improvements too.
LCA OE PBS pulls - an argument could be made that this is a big deal for FO's. They will have to judge that against the pay raise, etc. I'm not going to preach for this change. I don't like it.
The 5 cent a year change in per diem is based on 2% inflation. It basically stays the same. BFD. Lots to be concerned about but not per diem.
Bottom line: I like the $50,000 a year improvement and, while it's a tough call, I think this TA might be worth it.

I notice everyone factors in profit sharing when comparing ourselves to AA but no one factors in that they still have a retirement (which is the reason we have profit sharing)

Honestly, I have heard good and bad on that. At this point I do not know enough on that topic to make a case for or against it. Still studying that nugget.

I am a no vote, but their retirement was frozen. Only the senior pilots made out. I just spoke to an AAL crew in GRU and they were happy about what we got. I complained about us getting 15 days of sick leave and asked about theirs, they get 14. I am still voting NO.

Let's be honest with the raise. It's 8,-2.25,4,3 compared with the current contract, which already has a 3% raise scheduled for Jan, but not the 1% DC increase in 2017. Is it a good raise? That's up to the individual, but before you go comparing our pay and PS to AA, ask about the value of pensions vs 401k. I'm personally a fan of the latter vs former, but if you run the numbers, you've got to make a 401k pretty huge to have similar value to most DB plans.
The LCA change, as I've previously illustrated, is a huge concession which will impact the QOL and pay of all but the most senior FOs and Capts. It will never be recovered.
JV is being spun as a good deal. Far from it. I just left an airline that was rapidly converting itself into a ticket selling operation for other airlines. That's one of the reasons I left.
Sick call doesn't bug me much, and the banking function is a good deal for a currently healthy guy like me to save time up for a rainy day.
This needs to go back.

If you are talking about unverified sick leave, this POS TA is also 14 days. You need a note from mom on day 15 subject to review by the company Health Administrator (or some crap like that). Currently, we have 100 hours unverified sick leave available without a 1 and/or 3 year look back.

To all the FO's out there, it's reasonable to assume this is not a unique position among CA's. My gut tells me most don't share this "MY raise offsets YOUR huge QOL hit", but it would be naive to think he's the only one. Discouraging to say the least.

The total this time is a 21.5% raise in pay rates for this contract. It has upside protection for less profit. But if profit soars to $10B you could still get, I'm estimating, 28% of your W-2 in a profit sharing check.
