This was sent to me: I did NOT support this TA, voted NO on the deal as a rep, and will do so as a line pilot. It was made very clear by the MEC Chairman and negotiators they wanted the MEC to give a thumbs up on this TA, so the pilots get to see it and vote on it. What does this mean? they are merely looking to get a 50+1 vote from the pilot group, which this TA does not deserve. I disagreed and believed the the TA should have been stopped with the MEC as that is our job to prevent anything bad from going to pilots. Now its yours to ponder.
With an 11-8 vote the MEC approved to release the TA to the membership, the 8 that voted no, felt that the TA DID NOT meet the direction of the pilots and was unacceptable. This TA should have passed on its own merits, with the MEC and the pilots without a big sales job, however, this TA will need a sales job of a large magnitude probably in order of Barnum & Bailey circus main tent, Las Vegas show girls, cheerleaders, the used car salesman will be out in force. Its all about PAY, PAY, PAY.
There are some good things but this deal falls short of what the pilots have directed. Who would have ever thought this is what we would end up with in the best negotiating environment we have ever seen, too many concessions, Instructor issues, using PS to fund our raise, unacceptable, and valued less than contract 2012.
This is my perspective and did not support the TA, you should let the MEC CH. and Negotiators know your feelings :

Nice rant.
But the simple fact of the matter is that under his years worth of leadership, dpa has gone nowhere, despite all the things you mentioned that are going on.
You can try and make it out to be about a smear campaign as much as you want, but the results are what I'm talking about.
Anyway, enough on that. This isn't the dpa thread.

As a side note, DALPA has blown a ton of money attempting to discredit and shut down DPA. I imagine those dues dollars could have been spent better.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. The facts speak for themselves. I won't re-post here as we do have a DPA thread but the organizational structure (bylaws) used by DPA have many more check valves to keeping things bottom up and pilot-centric without all the nonsense clearly displayed at DALPA.

I love that I'm getting emails and text messages from fellow pilots about this lack luster of a TA. This is there first time I have seen our group be vocal on a subject and use any source of media to let the masses see the pros (there might be 1 or 2) and cons of this TA even if DALPA tries to control some of their social media.
Keep asking questions and keep pressing to test the scenarios!!!

And every time you think they are going away....DALPA makes them relevant again.

C2012 - raises funded by cuts in PS
C2015 - see above
C2012 - SNB offered for additional large Rjs for DCI
C2015 - see above
C2012 - F/O bids LCA and has no recovery obligations
C2015 - F/O trips locked out from bidding for OE
C2012 - Vaunted JV language with EASK as measurement
C2015 - EASK changed to Block Hour since the company seems
unable to meet the percentage under EASK
Plus an extra nickel per diem, extra 15 minutes for vacation (no credit though) and an extra hour of TLV.
How could anyone vote yes for this.
I was on the fence for C2012 but ultimately voted no. Right now C2015 makes the last one look not so bad. An easy no vote.

Good idea but be careful what you post on FB. It is not anonymous.
