I'm not thinking that dalpa is going to post anything. We'll see. The video(s) is/are from attendees in the audience . I'd prefer totally unedited in real time for the most independent view, but I imagine that a mashup could be wickedly viral.

In fact, can't you even call in well on day two of a trip and try to get back on it? They said that part hadn't changed, so how else would you be able to get back on the trip?

Scenario: 4 day trip followed by 4 days off

I call in sick for the first trip (not the day before obviously, as that would pretty foolhardy with the way this TA is worded) around 3 hours prior to report.

Now I get over my projectile vomiting that night and am well again before going to bed. I call in and either A) Say I'm well and get charged for one day of sick use, or B) call in and say I want to pick up the rest of my trip (if able, and complying with the provisions set forth for this option as currently written in our PWA).

I'm only getting charged for one day in both these cases, right?

You may be right with calling in well during the trip. Or, do you then also need to pick up a trip? I have more questions than answers with all this to say the least.

I just burned 13 of my 15 days on a State Sick. That was Contract Admins comment, "you could have called in well". But that is still this contract and the 13 of 15 day thingie is C'15 if it passes.

Professor,

Thanks for putting forth ALPA's information and your opinion. But I do have a suggestion and something I think all of us deserve. Can you please make note of when you are sharing ALPA opinion based on how they view a scenario playing out versus ALPA opinion based on how the TA actually reads and thus the less "hopey" scenario? I'm not putting this on you, but if you go back to find out what ALPA's negotiators say I think they owe it to you and the rest of us to back it up with facts (based on the TA) rather than their best guess. I'd respect a more honest "We're not really sure." answer than conjecture. Because that's what it really is if the TA doesn't spell it out, right? Baring some MOA.

Also, have you asked ALPA if they speak for MD, because he said in yesterday's letter to the pilots that he would "not sell" this TA to us; that he would just give us facts. Yet, the information sent out today about sick leave was definitely being sold. It wasn't a heavy sales job, but ALPA was definitely selling.

Can you ask them (and provide their answer or non-answer) if they are going to just give us facts instead of facts with propaganda? Seriously, I'd like to know. Why can't they do that? Facts would be the pros and cons. We know there are cons, but that never comes across in a straight manner. It's always like the car salesman's, "Yeah, she's got a couple hundred thousand miles on her, but she's a classic--a dependable classic!"

Thanks,

GG

So I'm guessing from the lack of a response ALPA's not willing to provide:

A) Fact based only answers
B) Negotiator Notepads without the sales job as MD said
C) A Con paper rather than just Pro papers

I am not a contract admin expert and am not comfortable parsing language between one TA to the next.

I encourage you to email [email protected]

We can get your question in front of many expert eyes there to help.

Thanks.

You are here to answer questions as a paid DALPA rep. Is this correct?

To the contrary, you are awfully good at parsing language.

If you only want to provide half truths and publish DALPA brochures then you should not be allowed to post here. It's a disservice to those trying to get to the truth. You aren't helping anyone but Donatelli who has shown he is willing to lie through his teeth. He feeds you tailored snippets and you carry them here. When people ask for complete answers you tell them to go somewhere else. It's Bu11****!

An F/O buddy of mine said it got pretty heated in the MSP pilot lounge yesterday with about a dozen pilots and the ALPA rep, to the point where the CPO ended it early due to the acrimony.

Have you been paid by DALPA to post here?

After today's in PTC, there might not be another. What was supposed to be an easy home victory turned into a rout! MED chair lost it and started yelling at the audience. When pressed by an FO about only 2% being affected by the LCA pull out he brushed her off with "well, you have your vote." Very vociferous exchanges and lots "information" going both ways. They even had the cops there in case it got "out of hand". Wait till he gets to NYC....
