ALPA sxxxs.......They have NO earthly idea how to put pressure anywhere (but right under their tip for personal gratification)!

Dues.....dues......dues.....! It's ALL about the dues!

That is a very good point. Apparently the company had no qualms about applying pressure to our NC: "This is our last and best offer - take it or deal with the NMB." Sounds more like a threat then pro-active engagement.

When was the last time DALPA put any pressure on the company? I guess we may have tried a little during the BK process although I admit the deck was stacked against us.

I would have to guess the last time DALPA applied any pressure was C2000?

Put politics, political agendas, over-reaching dishonest managers, World tragedies, diseases, market speculations and power-hungry union pilots aside;-->

This freaking career is good and it only gets better with a positive attitude. Going to work being positive and enjoying your job, really make a BIG difference.

We, as pilots, do make a big difference. Passengers look up to us and our positive attitudes. Aligned with safe, efficient, customer service/team oriented operations makes us the cream of the crop.

I believe that if we really want to restore our profession, we will have to exert the same amount of pressure on the company as we did back then. We did informational picketing, which I believe would be more effective now, as we can point to the Billions the pilots gave to Save Delta after 9-11, and we can point to our lost retirement plans, and then compare our incomes at 18% below rates from 10 years ago, to Management's pay raises over the past 10 years, and then we can start talking about the $6 Billion Stock Buybacks.

We have a lot of ammunition available to us right now, we just need to use it. The MD11 said they were out of bullets. Well, move out of the way then, because we need to start throwing hand grenades in the press, detailing exactly where all those Billions being used for stock buybacks came from.

That's a great idea, so great management already stole it. Full page ad thanking us for our efforts. That is cheaper than restoration by far.

And we should counter that with a full page add saying,

"You're welcome, now it is time to Restore our Lost Pensions and Restore our Pay Rates!"

I'd love to see dalpa seed the financial publications with some articles highlighting exeuctives' compensation increases.

I'd also like dalpa to threaten to facilitate other unions' organizing efforts. Perhaps even form a committee to that end. The "Labor Organization Committee" or something along those lines. We can do that even before standing up the strike committee

That, and a "Pilot Investment Committee" tasked with accounting for the dollar value of all the concessions the Pilots have made to Save Delta since 2004. When we go to Mediation, we will need that information to counter the company argument that they offered us AA's rates. What about AA's RETIREMENT funding?. And WHERE is OUR retirement funding??

I've lost all faith in my backpack. I thought it was a new backpack but it's just like the one I got from brand X, just a slightly different color.....not as much red in the logo

We had a DALPA rep at the latest investor conference presentation, not sure what her role was as the DALPA IR rep.

Not enough red in the logo... and not nearly enough green in the bag!
