I believe that if we really want to restore our profession, we will have to exert the same amount of pressure on the company as we did back then. We did informational picketing, which I believe would be more effective now, as we can point to the Billions the pilots gave to Save Delta after 9-11, and we can point to our lost retirement plans, and then compare our incomes at 18% below rates from 10 years ago, to Management's pay raises over the past 10 years, and then we can start talking about the $6 Billion Stock Buybacks.
We have a lot of ammunition available to us right now, we just need to use it. The MD11 said they were out of bullets. Well, move out of the way then, because we need to start throwing hand grenades in the press, detailing exactly where all those Billions being used for stock buybacks came from.

I know, but I am having a heard time understanding how anyone can be "out of bullets" without firing a shot.
Was there anything major that the company wanted that they didn't get on the TA?
I mean seriously - is anyone aware of anything major that the company wanted but did not get with the TA?

But DALPA said, "No! We will instead trade it for meager 'pay raises'!"
Way to go boys!

End profit sharing, end greenslips, end premium pay, end sick leave, end credit on trips, end pay during training since you're not actually producing, end free parking, longer if not permanent seat locks, more jumbo rjs even if not needed, eliminate minimums on JV scope clauses, end paying for your health care when you can obviously go to an exchange, end trips less than four days (almost complete), reduce 401k to 3% match, allow pilots to sell back vacation.

You take our dues money. You should bolster our cause, not sabotage it. It's called "integrity."

We are now "The On-Time Machine". Delta trademarked that slogan. Not so much my last trip, but we are on time, because of the pilots. We all fight this battle every trip to get the thing running on time. And I don't abuse sick leave, I'm getting stickers made.

Am I the only one here who sees ShyGuy as the annoying yappy purse chihuahua constantly barking around Delta's ankles? Are there DAL guys who have nothing better to do with their lives than scope the VX forum and add unwitty banter at frequent intervals?
