If Delta gets more flying, the pilots will come.

Our next TA will improve e190 pay and a lot of new hire FOs have already been captain on these type of aircraft, minus a few seats.

I have been flying with mainly new hires and I trust everyone of them to being a captain today if it happened.

Just because my career was stagnant, I do not wish that on anyone and by the time you get to Delta you are captain qualified in my eyes.

Now lets work on that JV crap and get more wide body flying TOO!

Can't be forced to upgrade. DAL will have to hire street Captains if they can't get enough F/O's to bid it.

You give me enough seniority on the 190, and I'd fly it for a couple years. :)

Well said..and mainline Capt is mainline Capt, regardless of type. When I was lucky enough to get hired back in 99, we had two choices..sit sideways on the 727 in NYC/DFW, or head down to MCO in the right seat of the 732 on Delta Express. IIRC, after flying 6 mos and getting off probation, new hires were upgrading to the left seat..and I don't think anyone had any problems with the transition.

If they put it in SLC and fly the intermountain west to MSO, JAC, FCA, HLN, BZN like we used to fly in the 733, it will go senior among the FO's who've been waiting to upgrade out west but don't want to commute. I don't think any of us think we're too good to fly a 190..and we welcome the chance to fly more of our Delta pax on mainline jets.::D

JMHO,

I'll go fly a kite if it paid enough. More Delta branded flying needs to be done by mainline. Pick either end of the spectrum, scope needs to be recaptured and this is the only financial and staffing environment that will allow that to happen. Don't waist this opportunity. Pay can be negotiated once the flying is safely back at mainline. The scope sale is over.

Another nail in the coffin for the Quebec owned C-series.

I think they'd have no trouble finding people to fly it in the left seat.

If you're flying LAX717B for $135 per hour in the right seat and can go to the left seat LAXE19A with better trips for $135, you'll probably go. And if you get in now then when the pay rates come in TA2 you'll be fine. And if we only keep 20 until that new gen E190 rolls in, you're in whereas others more senior might be locked out for a lack of openings.

And the left seat thing is a draw. For some. I mean yeah vast majority of guys don't want to be junior in any category but there are those who want it, hence 2014 hires about to hold 717A. Plus you fly with your favorite Captain and the new hires are, according to 717As I fly with, fun to fly with.

I've got friends doing anything they can to get in here for an interview, the notion that you'll have to fly this....

for $70/hr for the first year and then upgrade to captain and get $128/hr in your second year, looks like heaven.
