Passengers also have to book them. No one is going to book that at a fare level Delta can offer and make money. The airplane won't make it anyway.

Single aisle is already in the trans Atlantic market. We operate several routes with the 757. This is the logical next step, a new more efficient airplane. Too bad Boeing got rid of the 757. This will happen.

Our pay scales encourage it.

We won't have to worry about it. Bigger/more RJs will accommodate more international operations. Regional international flying is up 50% YTD. We just outsource anyway and move mainline to other routes, no growth.

Why are we making concessions?
Either of those first 3 things is an automatic no vote from me, as are most of the concessionary AIP's, barring some crucial things fixed in the actual language.

Apparently both sides want another rejected TA. That's cool. We can give them that.

Yes they are and the new generation of narrow bodies will replace the 757 in the limited markets it currently flies.

Until competitive pressures drive them into other markets. Or that's what management will say. At $8000 a seat do you think a premium brand product with 80 lie flat pods on a 737 would work? I'm not saying it will or not but I disagree with your limited vision of the use of certain airframes. The CS-100 could do DTW-ANC but I'm sure you will argue network would never do that. But it could. Latin America has seen regional flying grow 50%.

So you think we should tie managements hands and not allow them to react to competitive pressures? That would scare the hell out of me if I were a young guy!

No, I didn't say that. I think we should keep our quality of life provisions, not provide concessions during record profits and retain our profit sharing to hedge against outsourcing and benefit from the growth of the company while earning roughly industry average pay rates for the flying we do.
