It would obviously be here, we operate as close to Delta as possible, which will likely be a requirement of the FAA, if Delta wants to continue with a University program. I don't know how many candidates this will have, but probably not many, 5 years is a long time to work at Delta if you were planning on becoming a pilot. I worked at NWA for three years before Mesaba hired me, and I thought that was a while.

Why would anyone want to stop this? Several other major airlines are doing this. It makes sense as a business model.

And what is wrong with that? Many young pilots cannot afford to get 1500 hours on their own, so they seek other avenues, such as pipeline programs to other majors, the military, etc. Delta is actually way behind the power curve on this. About time they opened their eyes.
