10 is max, but if they don't have anyone else, then they can give you more.

I have patience for a some things, not watching pilots screw each other over because they've either decided seniority doesnt matter or they're smarter than anyone else and know that the better way. I still remember a few by name, if they ever get over to Delta I'd be shocked but I'll watch out for them there too.

Above all else, you own your seniority.

I wasnt the only one that felt that way, one of my better mentors showed me how to watch my butt. Earned me tons of money and a special chuckle when said cheater would ***** in the crew room that he wasn't flying anymore. Or wasn't able to cheat and sit out of base reserve while the rest of us commuted in senior to him.
That's why this job isn't worth commuting for, there is so much crap you don't have to deal with living in base.

Yep. Told I was "the only option" multiple times I make myself feel better about it by using that Rr time to update my airlineapps, Aa, spirit, and MySpace profiles

Don't you dare lecture me on dropping reserve days to pick up open time. I've tried. Allow me to invite you to see the hundred drop requests denied because the reserve grid shows a threshold HIGHER than then number reserve captains assigned.

Yes. I've called to see if they "have anything for me".

Average of 10 RR a month. And I say average because last mknth I did 12..a few months prior I did 11. The majority of my flying has come on three trips assigned... 1 5 day. 1 4 day. One wonderful 4 day that they took the last two days away and put me on RRA... Just to then try assigning me one of those removed flights I took great joy in refusing that one since they wanted me to take a deadhead outside my rra window

The rest of them out and backs.. Usually to Saginaw, Lansing, Columbus and Dayton

I'm done whining.... All ginned up and got triggered
I'm sure you already know. But when you try to drop a whole reserve stretch do you click the button to submit each day as a separate request? That's usually good to get one on the front or back done. Then once that goes through do it again for the remaining days. That's how I chip away at at least 3-4 days a month. At least in ATL... Sounds like you're in DTW

Really, ready reserve should not be allowed. All reserve should be long call, with the company converting to short call as needed.

Scheduling used to be able to assign ready reserve to anyone they wanted, the problem with that was, once you started getting around 50ish hours, all you got for the rest of the month was ready reserve. Then, once you got to 75, they stopped calling altogether.

Reserve used to be significantly worse than it is now, much much worse, I can't stress that enough. I once did a five day stretch, they called me at 5am, deadhead to MEM, rest for 8 hours, fly a high speed, rest for 30 hours out of base, then fly a two day, followed by PM ready on the last day.

Getting the thread back on track...

Two more 700s arrived in SLN yesterday for conformity.

N669CA: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N669CA
N354CA: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N354CA

Apparently two new 900s were delivered from YMX in December, not just one as I had thought. Both are on the line, as I have seen both in the wild recently. I was interested to see they have no chevrons on the jetpipes; anyone know why the change in design?

N181GJ - N187GJ coming during January to March.

One less G7 700 coming as it will end up at OO, in exchange for 9E receiving one OO 900 (non atmosphere)

Total of 183 in the 9E fleet by July — 42 200, 17 700, 124 900 (7 atmosphere / 117 legacy)

So what, 17 new AC in the next 6 months? Good luck finding 150
Additional pilots plus the 180 we will lose to attrition. We will need to hire 60+ a month. Street captains I’ll bet.

19 new to us A/C by my count. I’m sure we have enough qualified FOs to upgrade to avoid street captains, but I don’t know how we will attract enough New FOs. I’m sure the newly hired recruiters will be able to fill the void...
