As for a flow probably the last thing that sound happen seeing some of the people that went over on the compass flow they have to be able to weed out people.

Actually, they won’t take the final tests and MMPI until just before they go to Delta mainline indoc. So, the truth is they won’t know 100% if they will make it for most of their 42 months.

And yet there are many who think the first Propel candidate won't be on property in a few years time. My point is, we have Propel guys in new hire classes throughout the rest of the year. Doesn't matter if they're college, military or current Delta employees taking leave of absences.

They're all categorized under the Propel program.

Use the program's terminology. They are “expected” to upgrade and will have to explain why they haven’t when it's their turn to go to mainline. The explanation better be a good one. In essence, it's basically a requirement but Delta gets to decide if it's justifiable should the student not upgrade.

Propel Advance guys don't need to wait 42 months. They only need 2,000 hours. This is from the Propel website in regards to Advance candidates: "After flying for the Delta Connection carrier for at least 2,000 turbine flight hours (Part 121 only), Propel Advance pilots will have their application automatically reviewed by Delta Pilot Selection. Successful candidates will be given the first available interview date and, if successful, the first available new hire pilot Indoctrination class date."

No need to upgrade for Advance guys. Hell, I wouldn't upgrade if I was in the Advance group of Propel pilots.

They're all categorized under the Propel program.

And my point is the numbers of the Advance pilots are minuscule compared to the collegiate program. They are a drop in the bucket.

Bummer...I liked my CDO line. I read the memo, and i was literally too bored reading it to try to understand what was illegal 117-wise about the pairings.

So no more CDOs at all? I think this will make a pretty good chunk of more lines, no?

It also might force them into being more efficient with the lines as it will increase the amount of days ending late and starting early. I guess PBS knows how to do that pretty efficiently, but we’ll see how it all shakes out.

No need to upgrade for Advance guys.

Upgrade is still EXPECTED. The Advance Pilots haven’t even interviewed for mainline whereas the collegiate students will be doing theirs mostly in college. It’ll be a much longer path and I’d argue more stressful.

2000 hours with reserve time is about 3 years. Pretty close to 42 months.

If you didn’t upgrade you’d have to explain why. Why isn’t that clear to you?

It is clear. Advance guys do not need to upgrade. Expected? By Delta? By us?

Expected by Delta to upgrade at their DCI carrier. If they don’t it will have to be explained. “Because I didn’t want to” or “Because I didn’t want to sit reserve” won’t fly with them. Pardon the pun.

No upgrade needed. No explanation needed.

This is one of the top questions we asked Delta Propel Mentors of the Advance group of candidates. I'm just relaying that message.
