Yes, but so does ExpressJet. Colgan had a very capable pilot group, unfortunately a couple bad apples do spoil the bushel, so we will never shake that reputation.

I think the crazier thing is - is that you have this obsession with Colgan all these years after they came with Q400s into Newark and "stole" XJT flying. It was 7 years ago! Get over it!

Smitty you are exactly right! This is part of the problem with this entire industry and the same lame "a"ss excuse the major's especially DAL love to use against regionals and why there can't be flows. It's just too bad a regional can't have the ability to buy out DAL and then the regional can say to DAL pilots "we cannot have a merger or flow! There may be some bad apples among you and you need to go through our interview and testing first. We might consider a SSP with restrictions but we will look for any loophole we can to get out of our agreement."

Bad maintenance, lack of hiring standards, outsourced training, an up and out atmosphere with little to no mentoring, and a management that was more than willing to cut corners. The only reason people were willing to put in time there was the quick upgrade and to play the lottery to be the 1% of people who went to a major after 2 yrs.

I am sure they had some good people in their group but they became the magnet for the oddballs and people who literally couldn't get hired anywhere else. Pilots are our own worst enemy. Colgan survived to be bought out by Pinnacle while Comair get shuts down. PSA gets a new contract and Eagle... The bad companies thrive and there is that same line of dumb pilots lined up around the corner. The blame needs to fall on the people that keep these bad companies operating and thriving.

Where would you have gone in early 07? I think looking back then and now CJC was a good place to go. Couldn't have been happier. I think there are even some regionals out there with 2007 hires in the right seat.

Yeah..... like every single legacy Pinnacle pilot! But let me guess they didn't have "career expectations" like Colgan pilots right? Pinnacle had early to mid 2007 pilots get downgraded so your pilots/without/airline could hold left seats.

I'm pretty sure Pinnacle pilots' career expectations were to be Colgan pilots' captains. And to expect the Colgan pilots to be happy about it.

Nope. Date of hire across the board, then let the chips fall where they may. If im still stuck with the right seat then, tough. Its a simple mechanism to reward/penalize your current situation based on how long you've been in the industry. Its black and white really.

But noooo, we at Colgan are not happy with that because we dont get the upper hand.

Date of hire; screw ratios, quotas, and other BS. Shoot DOH across the board and thats what you get. Period

Water under the bridge anyways. Just dont expect any sympathy from 9E or XJ as many of them struggle now with downgrades, even though they have actually been paying dues way before some of those colgan guys that remain in their CA seat.

Doesnt really matter how many times you guys try to turn it around or try to justify yourselves, junior guys displacing senior guys of their CA seat is messed up in my book...

Pinnacle had what a two year upgrade back in the day? That's double what Colgan had.

I agree, that block sob really screwed this one up. Threw the whole process we were told more than once that no one pilot group would receive a windfall. Now we know that was a lie. I'm not ****ed off at the Colgan pilot group. I still don't understand why the 3 groups couldn't work it out by themselves. I feel this place is heading down the same road as Comair. I was hired at Mesaba 8 1/2 years ago and after holding left seat for 6 years I'm about to be downgraded. And now I'm told that I won't even qualify for the SSP interview because you have to be a current captain, even though I'd swear that our joke of a union said that we just had to have held captain at some point. What a joke of an industry. I don't know if it's true or not about Skywest wanting to by mesaba, but I sure wish anyone but Pinnacle would've bought us instead. I know it's all water under the bridge now. So I'm trying to get the hell out. I may even get out of this career all together.

Don't forget, y'all's contract passed with flying colors, so why all the complaining now?
