So let me get this straight. When you upgrade, the pilot is responsible for:

1.) Pay Delta $10,000, for the honor to upgrade
2.) Pay for all hotel costs
3.) Any extra simulator costs outside of training syllabus

Then you have to stay as a Captain for 3 years at Pinnacle/Endeavor? What happens if you leave to go to another airline before the 3 years is up? Are there any other highlights that I am missing?

Same happens when you get downgraded too.

You pay it back, it is non pro rated. They will hold your last paycheck and VAC payout. And since it was ALPA approved, if you go to another ALPA carrier, they will get their money from you via payroll deduct. This 3 year upgrade deal is the reason FO's aren't eligible for the Delta SSP.

other highlights....sick bank is only used at 75% (you call in sick for a 10 hour trip you get paid for 7.5)

Most FO's will never upgrade so it was really a no brainer to vote that in. I just think it's kind of ridiculous that after we switched our Lido charts to Jeppesen electronic services we have to print the charts out at home before we come to work. I had a pop up alternate the other day, and the dispatcher had to describe the approach to me while I drew it out on a cocktail napkin. This is a professional carrier for God sakes...

That's why I bid CDO's. Same city most of the month. Those times I get a regular line, I download the charts and send them to Kinko's for them to print/bind. Runs about $20-$40 average. Or just say screw it and go to the FBO down the street and get NOS charts.

What is not pro rated?

I thought that the new contract was enough, but this really puts it over the edge. Is Delta saying that training costs are too high, and they are now hitting you up with this BS.

So, if you are downgraded, you also have to pay $10,000. What does the $10,000 cover?

Sorry to hear about this guys, I know you are trying to run like hell.

Yeah, it's crazy. Reserve pilots are capped at 75 hours---if they credit over 75 hours, they still get 75 hours, and no per diem.

just to be clear, they get per diem on the trips that were under 75 hours, just not any overages.
