Mainly the numbers that are currently being hired. At the beginning of the year they were hiring between 120-150 a month. Now they're down to between 30-50. It's just my opinion that since their numbers are effing low, they can be picky-choosy again.

Not that I need to worry about this. Just need to stave off the boredom for one more week until I get to class here!

Ultimately, experience has shown that the Delta interview has little to do with how you perform as a pilot, a co-worker, or how you treat the customer. You can be a fantastic airline pilot and get hired, or you can be mediocre, or you can be the guy that is annoyed by pax, always fights the company and carries around 6 jepp revisions. I have seen all types get hired and not hired.
Getting hired by DL does not by itself impress me; doing right by your coworkers and customers, behaving like the professional you are, THOSE things are impressive. When I work with someone who is a great captain and he didn't get it, that in no way makes me look down on him or her and I make no assumptions about them based on their interview results.
Maybe he should have read Naval Aviator's a 4th time, or maybe he should have spent that time on cog training. Who really knows?

And even if interviewing in 12 hours, one has had over 12 months to prepare. Know quite a few guys who applied, did no studying, and then Delta called a lot quicker than they thought they would have for the ssp. Your job to lose, but not being ready isn't really a valid excuse anymore.

??? That would make sense in terms of calling fewer people to interview, not turn everyone who interviews down. When they were hiring 100 a month, they have more interviews to do than when hiring 30-50. Logically that just means a tougher time getting an interview itself, not that the interview process becomes harder to pass. It would be doubtful their interview process changed or hiring board standards different because of 100 versus 50 a month?

its all so interesting. The final piece of the puzzle is that we've submitted more names and have had more interviews during a time of minimal hiring which coincides with the earlier rumor that they all want to wrap this thing up.
